Hop in, toggle to sport, toggle suspension to normal unless the roads are smooth or I'm taking the scenic route to work, and comfort steering

Can't stand the exhaust in quiet mode, so bad I rarely use 6th gear now

Sport mode 98% of the time. Too much "body roll" in normal mode for my tastes. Many of our freeways/highways actually have nice turns. Also better for dodging those pesky potholes!

Normal mode with exhaust on loud but steering in comfort, which I feel helps numb out the tram lining a bit on freeways especially. On certain tracks I may even try normal for suspension settings.

I think your R "normal mode" is like my "sport mode"? ;)

I've driven this car so much in "sport" that any other mode doesn't feel right now. :) So unless I'm on the highway, it's always "sport". On the highway I change the suspension to something softer.

Normal mode 80% of the time.
Sport mode 20% of the time.
Sport exhaust mode 100% of the time.*

* Excluding late night/early morning driving in my neighborhood

Set car to sport mode 100% of the time in order to get the throttle response, steering, and exhaust.

Will then set suspension to normal depending on conditions. Several areas around me are much more composed in normal, while smooth roads are much better in sport.

When entering the neighborhood late at night will switch to normal mode to quiet the exhaust (no toggle switch in my car - booo!).

Sport mode 95% of the time on the road. Track on the track.

I don't like the way the car handles in normal mode. I also think the engine is mapped differently in normal versus sport.
You're feeling real throttle response vs the laziness in Normal mode.
He's feeling boosted throttle response as opposed to real throttle response actually

Track mode actually has the same throttle mapping as normal. Sport mode simply acts as somewhat of a throttle booster so you get more input low in the rev range without actually giving the car additional gas pedal input.

I was under the impression the suspension had 2 modes - normal and sport. I put the car in Track mode last night, and wow, it's a noticeable difference. I can't tell much between normal and sport suspension though.

And yes, after starting I almost always flip the exhaust toggle to sport. There are 2 on ramps where I'll switch back to normal since the houses are pretty close.

So only the track packs don't have the exhaust toggle button, and we have to go through the menu and set it to sport mode to get sport exhaust ? All other have an exhaust button ?

Models with the large screen ('15/'16 Tech Pack & '17/'18 Elec or Conv Pack) have the toggle. Small screens don't. This includes '15/'16 Base and Track Pack and '17/'18 Base.

I have played with this a lot and prefer to run in normal on the street with LOUD exhaust...of course. I tend to leave it in normal and change exhaust via the track settings on the dash. If I go to sport and then dial back dampers and steering, it still feels more aggressive than leaving it in normal. May be a placebo effect...I don't know? But the throttle seems more hitchy than being left in normal and the car feels stiffer with the steering more twitchy. Anybody else notice a difference between the two approaches to being in"normal" with loud exhaust?

CSL Yeah, I get the same thing - twitchy throttle in sport vs. a more linear response in normal. Even when reverting the steering and suspension to normal, I suspect that the DBW throttle mapping retains the sport mode setting.

I actually prefer track mode with sport suspension due to the throttle mapping and lack of "rev hang" when shifting, but sometimes wish I could force traction control to remain on in track mode. Flame on.....didn't there used to be a fire suit smiley thing?

The Sport mode definitely sets the DBW to a really aggressive mapping so it feels twitchy. I don't like it... I also don't like how artificially heavy the steering gets, and sport suspension is too bouncy for the roads I commute on.

I like Normal mode with the exhaust in sport. Rides reasonably well, makes fun noises, and has a good mix of throttle pedal feel and steering feel.

For autocross or track use? Track mode, ESC off, depending on the surface Sport or Track dampers. Steering feel is fine even with the Sport steering, I've tried the Normal steering and it's a wash IMO. Throttle is nice and linear too :)
