Agree with this as far as I can - not a Shelby owner but had both PSS and PS4S. PSS is already a very good tire but PS4S take the cake. If I had a GT350, I'd have 2 sets. One with PS4S for street driving and SC2's for track use.
Is your assessment on pss vs ps4s for track or street? I've heard the ps4s doesn't handle the heat and wear as well as the pss on track, but haven't tried them yet.

Just for street, forgot to mention. Agree with you on track assessment that pss wear better than ps4s. I just think if one has a GT350(R), you might as well get the best tires for each environment (2 Sets).

Thank you for that.
Can you please post your exact alignment settings, front and rear?
Iā€˜m going with the PSSā€™s and want to align to keep the wear minimal, if thatā€™s possible. I wonā€™t be tracking for competition, just to have fun. I wonā€™t be pushing it as hard as most of you guys. My first track experience was at Track Attack and Iā€™m 62years old.
For the front, camber bolts were installed for the new alignment. Negative camber was reduced from 1.65 on the left to .55, and from 1.58 on the right to .57. Front toe out was reduced from 1/16 in. on the left to 1/32 in. toe in, toe out on the front right was reduced from negative 3/32 in. to 1/32 in. toe in. The total toe on the front was changed from negative 1/32 in. toe in to 1/32in. toe in. Front left caster went from 7.03 to 7.29 and front right caster went from 7.10 to 7.47. The rear basically stayed the same.

Iā€™m curious (also quite interested), what sizes is everyone moving to with the Pilot Super Sport? I find nothing to match the stock size: 295/35r19 & 305/35r19 on Michelin's site, other than PSC2s.

If you go to Michelin site, use 2018 as the year GT350 and the tires will come up. This was original tire on 18 and eariiler GT350.

Michellin has the size, they just don't recommend the tire for the GT350, because the speed rating is just a tad lower than the PSC2's. But if you go on tire rack site, you'll see they recommend the PSS.

Slightly off topic, but wondering how much folks are paying for mounting and balancing.

Paid $96 last year to mount and balance. 4 Tires installed on new rims, so no vehicle removal or install involved. Had them done at Ford dealer.

...The PS4S (which is the next gen of the PSS) will not give you as much grip on the track, but they will last longer. If they are like the earlier-gen PSS, they will have a tendency to chunk when driven aggressively at the track when mounted on a heavy car.
It's my opinion that the PS4S is the best performance street tire for the money in terms of dry and wet performance, treadwear, and grip for the GT350/R. You probably will not notice the difference in weight and turn in on the street, and only if you are an experienced driver with a well-developed seat of your pants feel will you feel a difference on the track.
I can confirm that the PS4S will significantly reduce or eliminate the tramlining associated with the SC2's. I second the opinion that you will find the PS4S the best option for street. You can run the 305/30/19 PS4S squared on both the GT350 and the R wheels.
So for the PSS vs PS4S conversation, what are the pros/cons of each? I have an `18 and LOVE the PSS. I'm mostly street driving and did do a DE day where the tires were clearly above my ability and risk tolerance level. I've got 8k miles on them and they seem good so far in terms of longevity.

That being said, I happened to notice that the PS4S is now available in the stock sizes. So when I do need new tires, I'm debating PSS or PS4S if that's the evolution of the tire. Let me put it another way, will Michelin keep making the PSS or will they change over to the PS4S?
