It's not a dragster. It's purpose built as a road racer to hug the corners and power through an apex. There will be a Mustang coming that is more targeted for Drag racing and high horsepower with tons of boost to your hearts desire.

By the same token ... this is going to be a NA motor with over 100HP per liter. Its plenty powerful for a road racer already. Just because someone representing a supercharging supplier claims they've done it to other cars that were claimed to not be good for boosting.... doesn't mean its a brilliant idea. If you are already buying into what's going to be a depreciating asset why accelerate that depreciation by prematurely aging the motor and all the components by stressing it with boost over the OEM high compression bits.

The guy selling the idea is the one looking to gain from your decision when you buy into the idea he's peddling. When in the long term you will be holding the car note and the broken bits left for you to take pictures of them prior to listing them on craigslist or eBay.

So yes. if you do plan on driving it more than for a weekend showing then everytime you start it you are that much closer to parting out a car you destroyed. And I don't care so long as its not my car, but I don't want to be one of the airheads contributing to the decision to do it on the first place. I'd prefer to be a voice of reason and then if they still decide to follow the advice of the devil on their shoulder.....I'll be the guy to buy the remaining bits and offer my condolences for the unfortunate experience that detonation caused for them. I will be sympathetic for them as we discuss the experience and even express sympathy when that time is shared with us here on the forums.

Then when I close my laptop and turn on my TV I'll shake my head repeating the word dumb-ass a few times as I recline in my La-Z-Boy and laugh at the poor unfortunate soul accepting my money for his broken GT350 parts...

Still Who am I to tell you how to spend your money? But if you want to come on a forum with a bunch of logical thinking people and ask about it.... then you're going to get some logical advice that is not inline with the rogue thinking of the boosting crowd.

Best advice.... wait for the next iteration of the GT500.

Good Luck with all of "your choices"

I have no doubt there are very clever people out there who will create boost that will be both beneficial and reasonably safe. That said, I have no real sense that it needs an extra bunch of hp and torque to be all the car I need. That is the first time I have ever said anything like that.

526 HP and 429 ft lbs of torque is plenty enough for me I will not boost it even if it becomes possible.

I think it will take me a while to get used to it and start to feel like it's not fast enough. Hopefully a few years at least. I probably will not boost mine either. If I want more, hopefully government regs won't have stopped the manufacturers from continuing to up the ante and I'll just buy something a few years newer.

We all saw the video of the Stig at Goodwood. If it's enough car to keep someone as good a driver as that on his toes, than surely its more than enough for all of us.

I agree, I'm very impressed with what they are making in this NA engine, and especially at the price point I feel that this will be a great application over the the previous gt500, something new, something exciting

This thread looks familiar :)

There's a local tuner to me that will be developing a whipple kit for it. I'm never do it but I'm definitely interested in the outcome.

We have our car in R&D BETA testing currently, and 2 others waiting in the wings.

In stock form with mild boost, these cars will be very fun just like the Boss302s when they came out. However for those that add a little more "boost" friendly pistons so that they can lean on the motors a bit harder..... well they will have flat out animals on their hands.
