mine are the standard (analog?) gauges, the glare from the sun was making it impossible to see either gauge mid day so after much fiddling around I found an easy fix to share with anyone interested. I cut 2 pieces of black felt to lay in the housing in front of the plastic bezel. The felt had a little sheen to it so I misted it with flat black paint and it works great I have tint on the upper 1/3 of windshield and that helped a little, then I realized what I was seeing was the sun shining on the housing in front of gauge and not the gauge itself. The painted felt took all the glare away in my case, might work for others. I used felt for the rough texture and the wife had some around, other cloth may work as well? Jim

Yeah there is a glare on the standard gauges. My issue with the glare is on the middle LED part. Do you have a pic you can share of your invention?

A picture will definitely be helpful here.

They lay in the bottom 1/3 of gauge where my finger is, you can't really see them but I notice the difference in seeing the bottom of fuel and temp gauges. I'm 6'2" and I have to lean forward to see the gauges clearly any how with them aimed at the ceiling so that doesn't bother me. I just cut them roughly the same shape as the floor? of the gauge housing. and layed them in place. Haven't had a day of windows down cruising to see if they move around yet.

haven't been up close with the digital gauges, would be worth a try it's cheap and quick, out very little if it doesn't help.

Almost a year later and I'm finally getting around to addressing this issue. As I mentioned, the center of the display has been a glare issue for me.

I'm shorter than you so obviously our viewing angles will be different. I don't have any issues with the analogs on either side, though I can see your solution working quite well.

That center though... man the glare sucks!

Fortunately I found out that center plate actually pops out. So I can either scuff it up or put something more dull over it pretty easily. Even though it has a matte finish, it still puts off a glare.

How do you pop the panel out? Pull straight toward the steering wheel or?
I was thinking to do an overlay of some kind on that part. But the choice of material needs to be something that can be cleaned. Felt would trap dust and need to be discarded.

I alternated lifting up the front corners (drivers side). There are two snap in tabs on the driver side that will give eventually. On the very front near the gauge there are curved lips that help guide the front end in and out. Hope that helps.
