Have a ‘15 GT with premium sound system.. Salesman pulls car around for me to test drive with the audio blasting. I turned it off. I said the music for me is under the hood!! Nuff said. :like:

Music from under the hood = problems, unless it is the famous tick lol The exhaust sounds may be good, but they don't provide the bass I desire :) See what I did there with actually referring to what this thread is about.

Can you share the specs and some photos of your set up?
I never took pics and it's OE tucked in the trunk nook all can see is a beat up JL.sub protective screen..... It's very simple just cut the small pieces to fit internal ribbing gaps (time consuming), reinforce the two halves bond seam with epoxy coating, and cover the exterior of enclosure to front face edge with dynamat. Put some polly fill in, some 1/8 in or so sealing foam tape on sub mounting surface and mount whatever sub you buy.

Make sure sub spec matches enclosure volume....

I went OE because do lots long road trips incl multi day minimalist glamping need every sq in.

It sounds good both ways. But the bass is just a bit less with the top down, so I turn up the bass. Np

Good to hear. I checked out your thread and will refer to it as I move forward. In fact I will head over there and reply, I have a few questions. The subs are my first priority, but I also want to do the rest of the speakers.

PS, if you want to do a amp rack in your spare tire well, I have two pieces of plywood already cut that was traced off of mine. And I have carpet to cover the amp rack as well.

SMH. Seeing such things makes me want to almost ditch my spare. This has been weighing on me for a few months now.

I carry an air pump and a tire plug kit. On longer trips, I throw the spare tire in.
