So I've been looking into the different options for strut tower braces and see two that seem like front runners. The Ford Racing and the Steeda. I've found pics of the FR installed but can only find the Steeda on the 5.0. Has anyone seen how it sits on the Ecoboost? I would love to see it before I bite the bullet.

Here's the Ford Racing brace for the curious. Both are around $200.

And a link to the Steeda brace.

I've had both. I like the Steeda brace a lot better, it fits very well and looks nice. I couldn't say if one is better than the other performance wise. I switched to the Ford Performance brace so I could take the engine cover off without having to remove the brace. Removing the brace also meant disconnecting the battery which meant removing the battery cover first. Of course I could have left the engine cover off but I wanted it on there.

Keep in mind that the FP version comes with the steel cowl brace also. This would matter if your car is not already equipped with it. Looks like Steeda is just the tower brace.

That's a good point, it's the same one that comes on the EB w/PP. I already had it on mine so just threw the other away.

Man I am looking for one of those since I didn't get the PP EB!
So the FP brace comes with that driver side Steele brace?

You are able to remove the engine cover without removing the FP brace? That was one of the things holding me back from purchasing a strut tower brace.

Yes, otherwise I liked the Steeda brace a lot better.

Another option

I added this one that I found on ebay for $40. I had to make some new aluminum plates to make it fit. Can't really say it makes any difference, but it was fun messing around under the hood.

Is there a significant difference in only having the strut tower brace without the cowl brace? Just installed the strut tower brace from a PP car but I do not have the cowl brace. Wondering how much of a difference it would make.

Do Not use this style Strut Tower Brace. It has flex joints on each end which defeats the purpose of a strut tower brace. It is just eye candy.

On to the important Stuff. The Cowl brace Cross Member http://www.villagefordparts.com/oe-ford/fr3z16k038a is an important component of the Strut Tower Brace system found on the GT PP cars. This completes the triangle bracing system and you will feel a deference in your steering response.
