Hey guys! I've had my 17 gt premium since February of this year and have had it at 507 rwhp for a couple months now ( all motor) with supporting mods and all that. Looking back now I kinda wish I would've saved the money from the parts and labor on it and sold/traded for a gt350. But I didn't and here I am! Don't get me wrong...I love the car and it is a blast to drive and is more car than I need for what I do with it most of the time, but I can't help the fact that I can't stop thinking about a 350??? If I got one I would pretty much leave it unmolested. Unlike my current gt. And I already know I am going to lose my ass on resale or trade in on my current setup and I've come to terms with that. I am literally 50/50 on the decision right now. Once I get my mind made up I tend to stick with it and follow thru. I would like some feedback from you guys, what should I do? Enjoy my current car for a while?convert mine back as close to stock sell the parts and trade? Sell it as is and take the loss? By the way it has 5500 miles currently and is in excellent condition. A very nice build IMO. But still not a gt350...
I read through most of the responses from other guys, and here are my 2 cents:

you already fell in love with the GT350, let go of the GT. This is not your spouse, this is only a toy.

So the 350 is not as comfortable as the premium GT?
As comfortable if not equipped with Recaros (I'm too hulk-like for them)....but much more spartan. You'll get the picture once you experience one. Not that it's bad, it's just more focused to the nature of the car. I found my friend's R on the stark side, but keep in mind my GT has porno red leather....

A GT is exactly that - a Grand Tourer. Jack of all trades, master of none. A car with balls you can hop in and drive it across country without grumbling.

Two different tools....

I still really want a 350, but the biggest nagging doubt for me is long-term longevity of that engine since I always keep cars well beyond warranty.

UPDATE: I drove the 16 gt350 on Friday. First thing I noticed sitting in the car and finger banging everything was the trans. Man that tremec felt so smooth! Loved the sound in normal and sport mode. The poor salesman had a hard time getting it out of the car max lot and then we switched it up and I got to drive. I've gotta say you guys were right! It freaking ripped!! The trans shifted sooo much better than my gt and the low end torque??? Well it made my car feel like a slug. I was very surprised I was expecting it to suck down low honestly but it was better than I imagined. The magnaride and overall menuverability of the car was equally impressive. I pretty much only got some highway driving in with a couple miles of back roads so I didn't get to try out the full potential but I could see and feel the advantaged over the regular gt the whole ride. I believe the hype now! The salesman said when we pulled out "please don't kill me I have children" and when we got back he said "that's the most thrilling test ride I've ever been on, thanks for not killing me too" hahaha. The car was a lot rougher than I was looking for. Had curb rash on both wheels on the drivers side. Several paint touch ups and a place where something had fell on the hood? And the leather on the drivers side was scratched up pretty bad. IMO it was rough for 3800 miles. I take very good care of my stuff and from the looks of it the previous owner did not, so I passed on it. So is a new 350 in my near future?? I'm thinking YES!! But I need to sell my car or put it back to stock and part out the aftermarket parts before I can make a move

I need to get rid of my GT first. I talked to my local dealer yesterday and I think they may take care of me

Yes, the transmission is far better than the GTs even with the standard shifter. The transmission ratios are much better suited to the 3.73 rear also. My 17 feels as strong or more so down low also which is surprising since the Ford dyno reports show it significantly weaker up until about 4000 rpm. Mine even pulls smoother off a tight, low speed corner in 3rd gear than my GT. Go figure?

Man honestly I believe a 350 would leave my current setup in the rear view. Now that I've driven both I can give a more accurate testament to that theory
