Though I love my pristine 13' Boss I'm considering selling it to purchase a GT350. For those of you on this forum that own a GT350 and owned a Boss at one time what are your thoughts. Would love to have both but garage space is at a premium. Car would not be tracked. Thanks for your time and input.

Iā€™ve got both, a 2012 Boss 302 Laguna Seca and a 2020 GT350.

Both are tracked, both are so unique in their own ways. When I got the LS new in 2012 I thought it blew away any other mustang Iā€™d owned before.

Then I get the Shelby last year, and holy shit itā€™s on a whole ā€˜nother plane... it blows the LS away both on the street and the track.

And yet I wouldnā€™t get rid of either one, they are so unique in their sound, handling, braking, redline, etc. each has their own personality which makes the driving experience unique.

If you do go the route of a 350, just be prepared that the torque curve is much higher than the boss. Some say the 350 has no balls on the street, they just donā€™t understand you have to rev the 350 much higher, but the car enjoys it and responds to the higher rpms.

Also Iā€™ve got a friend here in Mass looking for a Boss. Shoot me a PM if you want to give me more details on your car.

Thanks for the input Dave. Living here in the Midwest and the Boss put away for the Winter there's no real rush on this. I just want to get some honest feedback from guys that have or had both. Keeping the Boss and purchasing a 350 is the ultimate goal for me right now but my budget for the 350 has to come in under 50k. The Boss has 3,800 miles w/ a few mods and showroom new.

SBY.........When I began looking approximately 5 years back, I really wanted Grabber Blue but 4-5 month passed and never came across one that met my criteria so I settled. The yellow has kind of grown on me. I'll tone it down this time with a GT350 in black, magnetic, or kona blue.

Cant speak on the boss however the 350 is a very special car. Will go down in history as so. The rev, the sound. Nothing else like it on the road.

Also think....is this the last 6 speed 500hp+ NA car? Maybe ever?

Pretty cool.

I wish they would revisit that comparison and use a car that has the magneride suspension and the track pack. Unless you're shopping 15's and 16's, every car you look at will have them.

Can always hope for a new Boss with a NA 5.2L CPC and all the other nice bits in the GT350/500. I think that would be a helluva car.

I second what @Davesvt2000 said. You really can't go wrong with either car. Both are their own experience. It really depends on what areas you value. To me, advantage Boss 302 on personality, racey-er feel, and the Boss Recaros are slightly better than the Shelby ones IMO. Boss is more fun around town at any speed. The Boss is flawed in clutch/trans and braking department, but more so if tracked/driven hard. The Shelby is far superior in this regard. Advantage Shelby in power, clutch/trans, brakes (and its not even close here) handling, suspension, cooling (if you get a track pack 16 or 17 up) interior, technology. Of course, the Shelby is more expensive to own. It is also much harder to access its capability on the street, it really needs to be experienced on a track. I would strongly suggest driving the two. I haven't heard a new GT500 in person yet, and until I do the Boss and 350 are the 2 best sounding mustangs. In a perfect world I would have both.

Curious why you think anything would have been different. They thought the car handled great, didn't think it needed more from the suspension in any way. The track pack coolers are essentially a non issue for street driving. They loved the car and really found no faults with it.

I agree with everything you guys mentioned. Car is fun as hell to drive and sounds awesome, especially when using the track key. It's to bad they didn't put Tremecs in these. I'm doing everything in my control to have both.

I think the base non-magneride suspension is pretty good, but the duality of the magneride suspension let's it be a comfortable daily and a track weapon all in one with the flick of a switch. I feel they only got a taste of what the chassis is capable of.

I like the idea of trying to have both. And I am totally biased.
