I Agree, which is why mine has no stripes - mine is not a Shelby. It's a Mustang GT350 built by Ford Performance. Although it does say Shelby 3 places, they're in locations I can't see while driving, thank God. 2017's even have it better, as it is only on the splitter.
... wrong:

upper management changes at Ford in 2005 reintroduced Shelby to the Ford Mustang when his name became the lead brand on the SVT Mustang Cobra in ’06 that came to market as the 2007-2014 Shelby GT500. Shelby and Ford Racing also teamed up to massage a series of Mustang GTs and market them as “Shelby GTs,” plus have recently offered a variety of other limited-edition specialty SVT Mustangs, including a 45th Anniversary GT500KR. To this day, Carroll Shelby's name is still synonymous with Ford performance.

white stripes, or matte black, they don't scratch as easy. I did PPF over my entire car, stripes and all. (don't go over matte) and not a chip/scratch and looks superb.

Shelby = stripes. You want non stripe, but a regular GT. My 2 cents only.

I see stripes on regular GT's sometime, it's like sticking an R badge on non-R . Wanna be.
You really get that worked up about it?

I see no problem with regular GTs having stripes. It's a big difference from fake badging IMO. That doesn't even bother me even though I chuckle at it.

I get in my stripeless 2017 Mustang Shelby GT350 and start it up. It sounds like it has 5.2 Voodoo in it, feels like and handles like it has Magneride etc. Maybe I'm mistaken and should check the parts better. :p

I like to disassemble things.

Crap. All this time I thought I had a regular GT and so did everyone else. I want my money back!

I go back and forth on stripes. I feel like 07-14 GT500 almost "need" stripes. 07-09 especially, they look like they are missing something without them. It broke up the "chunkiness" of that body style. While I liked the look of the stripes on my Boss 302, they were a pain from a waxing/maintenance perspective, especially 2013. Lots of edges on those hood stripes. I don't care much for the pin-striping on the current generation depending on the color combo. If I could have gotten full matte black on lightning blue, I would have considered it, but I don't like the white outline it sort of stands out. Since I made the decision on no stripes, it shaped my decision on color as I feel some colors are better without stripes. This car looks so tight and sculpted I don't think it needs a thing. The good news is they can be added or removed relatively easily.

If I'm not mistaken, not all the original GT350s from the 60's had over the top stripes. I saw a car show recently where they discovered a "barn find" GT350, and it only had rocker panel stripes. I'm no expert, maybe someone knows if this is true?

I like both, but after seeing my buddy's new R last night (Magnetic, black roof, no stripes) I have to say I reeeeally like the clean look.

And thus the poll about is it a Shelby or not you started. As I posted there, even Ford calls it a Shelby GT350 on the window sticker with no mention of Mustang. But to each their own. I call mine "The Shelby."

Yes, that is indeed why I started to poll.

That's fine, I was just asking?
