Tool only gets the car to recognize 3 of the sensors. Any ideas to try before I ask for a replacement sensor and have to pay to get it swapped?

I've put >200 miles on my $70 amazon sensors that haven't learned yet. I'll have the tool tomorrow, I'll check the box for any indication as to brand or actual manufacturer when I go to the garage next.
You have to be careful which vendor on amazon you get them from. Some claim to be ford oem, but really mean generic oem compatible.

I tried doing the process after driving 35 miles straight, still not working. Seller is sending me a replacement, they didn't even flinch at me saying a sensor wasn't working... must be a common thing.

Erratic readings

Just to add a twist, here's my situation.

I have two full sets of Ford factory wheels, one set is my original set and the other I bought used, both with factory TPMS sensors. Both have automatically programmed to the vehicle without issue, at times.

The first time I swapped wheels the vehicle reprogrammed itself within miles. Subsequent wheel swaps have progressively taken longer for the vehicle program itself, from miles, to days, to weeks, even when running my original factory wheels.

I resorted to buying a TPMS programming tool (Motorcraft TPMS-19-8C2Z-1A203-A). The first time it worked immediately and perfectly! Since then, it has never worked again. The car doesn't even acknowledge it. And yes I do put the vehicle in program ready mode every time.

Then randomly out of the blue the vehicle will just decide to reprogram itself. That's where I'm at today. Frustrating and too inconsistent to deal with the dealer.

So the replacements are here. Seller told me to keep all 8 sensors after I bitched about how much I had to spend to replace a defective one that was brand new. Now I have extras if I ever want to get drag wheels!

Going to stop by my dude's place on Saturday after my short shift at work. The annoying TPMS Fault message cannot go away fast enough.

I wonder if disconnecting the battery and doing a hard reset would help with the learning process.

All - Stop buying TPMS Training Tools for the 2015+ Mustangs, the S550 with the new 315MHz TPMS Sensors Auto Learns within 25-miles of driving.

Can you manually train the 2015+ Mustang for immediate reading after installing new sensors, yes, but if you check and set your tire pressures before driving off on your new tires and wheels, everything will be fine and the new sensors will start reporting the pressures.

I will be switching my factory 18's for the GT PP Black 19" wheels/tires that still have their factory tpms, do you think my 2016 will "retrain" itself to these take offs or will I need the TPMS19 tool?...........or is it a coin toss if it will work or not :)
