Question for the guys who say they sync up automatically. Have you tried dropping the pressure in one tire to see if the display on the dash shows the correct location of the change in tire pressure? I've always heard the car will just randomly assign a position to each sensor if you don't do the training procedure.

My 2020 GT and 2018 F-150 use the same sensors. I have aftermarket tires and wheels on both, and used the Ford Performance sensor kit in both sets that includes the syncing tool. (M-1180-B) Have had them on my truck for 6 years and on my mustang for 5 years, have never had to use the included syncing tool.

On my truck, I run 34 in the front and 32 in the rear. When I rotate tires, I adjust the pressures during the process. When I first start the truck, the rears have 34 and fronts are 32. After driving for 10 minutes, they will adjust and show correctly, 34 front, 32 rear. Both vehicles will figure out what tire is where.

It’s not the Ford Performance sensors either. Ran the OEM tires/wheels on the truck for about 12,000 miles at the same pressures. Rotated those tires with the same results as described above, never needed a syncing tool.

Yes, multiple times. I've had 0 issues with it! I've never used a RF tool or any procedure and my tire pressure gauge is showing the correct pressure at the correct corner.
