Wow, this turned into a how to drive Q&A real quick... Let's try and stay on topic, this thread is about stock block dependability, not how to drag race..

Driver mod is the main thing with these cars guys! Without proper seat time and practice you'll never get the results you desire (especially on street tires). I've made 90 + passes in this car. Taming the beast is key. Learning your car, and your track. Practice makes perfect.

I'm running 275/40/19 stock wheels with General Gmax all season tires. No LC used, You have to learn how to drive the car with the tire setup you personally have, on the surface you choose to run at. Low tire pressure and low rpm launch with progressive petaling thru 1st and 2nd is my method on pure street tires at my local Dragway.

I've gone 144 mph with a completely stock unopened engine. No oil pump gears.

Because there isn't an exact answer. The opinion on the Internet is that 600-650whp is safe. Some of the major kits get close to this like Whipple's kit. Of course it will depend on your driving too. 650whp car that gets driven back and forth to work with an occasional pull is going to hold up a lot different than a car that is taken to the track often.
You know what they say about opinions...

There is no "safe" magic number. Each system can be safe or unreliable depending on a million factors. Intercooler efficiency, sc efficiency, type of driving, octane, calibration and so many other factors.

As for gears, many state they are needed but to date, we simply don't k ow of one 15-16 that has failed including many hard driven, track based vehicles.

We make 700rwhp where some others have trouble exceeding 625 at the same boost. Why? Calibration, manifold design, intercooler efficiency, cooling system and other factors. More efficient power is not harder on an engine, it's less wasted energy.

Also, who picked 600-650? Why is that the number? In 2005, ford racing and us made 500 engine HP. In 2007, we went to 550, far exceeding all others and passed all durability testing. Everyone said it couldn't be done, yet nearly 8 years later the kit and cars are still going. In a few years, the same will be said of the s550.

We can easily provide you with whatever power range you want through turbo selection.

A set of PTE5558 @ 6-7 psi would do the trick!

You don't need to worry m8, I think most here know Whipples reputation and the fact it seems Ford will be using your blower I think again on the GT500 is testament to the great tune, reliability and drivability you guys offer.

Whipple is the way I am going, but I also want as the last guy requested a lower power version, less boost, equals longer engine life and potentially in cooler climates like the UK where by law we have to use normal road tyres then less power is actually faster, due to traction.

So what is the largest pulley one can fit under the S550 hood with your kit whilst remaining on stock engine mounts? I am happy to remove sound proofing from the hood to give more clearance. :)

For me I would want your kit with largest pulley available and extra cooling upgrade. With this what kind of WHP can I expect?

Than if I want more power I can add your larger throttle body and if after that I still want more I can go down a pulley size or two. But I'd rather start at lowest power and work my way up. :)

But I love your kit for the simple fact it is a true bolt-on kit, the Roush is tempting but it misses for me two key points. It seems to have no whine:( and I love supercharger whine. Lastly its not a bolt-on kit, you have to make modifications to the car for it to fit, that for me is an instant no.

We basically can't make 550 any cheaper than 650. All you need to do is run the stock throttle body (-50hp), flip the octane switch using our flash tool and lower the rpm limit to the stock 7200 using our flash tool. It's all there. While 500-550 is too low, you can make 575-625 with what we supply.

Great to hear. The largest pulley one can fit is 4.0" which is 2psi less boost. Stock throttle body vs 132 is also 1psi less. We've got a new update for our flash tool that allows some unique calibration options for safety as well, another great innovation that will truly help the customers make there vehicle exactly how they want it.

1psi less with stock TB as it restricts the airflow. The 132 is better in literally every way, but if your trying to keep power down, the bigger TB does the opposite.

Here's a graph with the big tb, don't have one handy with the stock TB. This is stock motor, 62deg F, stock exhaust, 3.75" pulley.

Shell Vpower Nitro is great fuel and equal to US 94. Needless to say, you have an incredible safety built in just due to octane.

RPM limit is currently available at 7200 or 7500.
