The weight argument is overated, the gt350's are heavy too in the 3600-3700 range. The gt500 is a bit more nose heavy, but mine with basic mods - 26lb wheels and ear seat delete+roll bar, on 1/4 tank, is 3820. Thats less than a passenger difference.

I was curious about the weight after installing the CMS bar, so did a before and after. About a 20lb savings.

I like to disassemble things.
You should be closer to 4,000lbs with only those mods. Got a scale ticket?

Yes, inquiring minds want to know.

Maybe carbon brakes?? Thats the only way I know of to get down into those numbers.

I figured it would cause a stir. Here are the readings on my scales over the last couple of months. Corner weights are not accurate as I don't have levelled pads, but totals are valid. I lower the car from the lift onto the scales each time, so the position is consistent within a couple of inches.

Even adjusting for fuel loads, still decent weight reductions.

Interesting to see a base with handling pack and tech pack sitting at 3950. I have the same car but with the standard seats, wonder how much they add vs the recaros of yours. Good info here ty!

I know the recaros weigh around 50lbs ea. with brackets. The new wheel/tire setup was about 5lbs lighter per corner than the base wheels with PS4Ss. Biggest challenge is the nose heavy distribution, around 56%.

why 305/325 on a square setup? I would do 325/325

I rolled onto the the scale at Roebling Road in the fall of 2020, identically equipped to what I quoted above except I swapped in a factory Ford rear seat delete (savings was 32 pounds) and resonator delete (saved 3 pounds). The certified scale showed 4,166 pounds (no driver, full of gas, rear seat delete). So I'd be 4,201 pounds completely stock. That's a 249 pound difference. Somethin' ain't right. Trunk was completely empty and the rain tray was out as well.

Perusing Ford's listed specifications (I found the guide for 2021 which I believe is within a few pounds of the 2020) and they list the following for weight...

Your scales show your stock, base car to be 129 pounds less than a CFTP.

Impossible. That is why I suggested he roll o to a certified scale. Again something isn't right

My scales could be off, will see if can get it weighed at the track. Much like dyno’s , for me it is the delta I’m looking for. It is why I start my TT sessions at 1/2 tank, saves 48lbs.

Stock? No.
Mod? Maybe.
Heavily mod . Absolutely.

A track is a balance of speed, costs, safety etc.

The engine is great. The grip is good. Consumable of a car weighting 4200-4300 lbs (with u) are very high
Availability of tires limited and expensive.

Is unfortunately the same questions everytime.
First of all..
What would you want it for? Hpde? Time trials? Real racing? Roadrace with a 120k.car(including upgrades).is...intense

Second. How much would you like to spend?

Third. What time of tracks u have around? Long straight or short and lots of turns?

I have the GT and the 500.

In a perfect world where budget is not an issue i would do for the 500:
Change the brakes with AP RACING so i can fit 18" ( like serpent stang)
Put 335mm square tires.
More power.
Reduce weight about 250 300lbs (rear seat. Passenger seat. 100lbs less brakes. 40-60lbs lighter wheels)
tires)
Coilovers
And big big aero.
But...we are talking about looooooots of money for a time trials car.

So the question is
100k car +20-30k upgrades?

Or 35k GT +40k upgrades?

I CAN TELL YOU THIS it is a awesome daily.

I wonder how light you could make a new 500.....Car would be absolutely insane even if it were just like 3500 LBS, closer to 3k (don't even know if that's close to possible) would be INCREDIBLE.
U cant. Unfortunately.
