Got my 2019 GT Premium at Christmas and was immediately impressed with the 6MT. Drove an automatic (2014 Azera) for the last decade, but spent the previous 32 years with sticks (1977 Accord, 1986 Celica, 2000 Accord).

I'm amazed at how easy this car is to drive. Putting in the Steeda clutch spring made it even more enjoyable. My wife has driven AT's much of the last 25 years and she had no problems either. Next we might teach our daughter - ?

I drove manual transmission cars and trucks for many years. I finally switched to automatics having to drive in heavy slow traffic for years. I now really enjoy driving my 20 Bullitt with a 6spd manual. Much better control and a more interactive driving experience.

I have never owned a personal car or truck that did not have a manual transmission. Have bought them for my wife. She drives manual as well. Dad used to let me drive to church in a ‘64 VW (my first car) when I was 12 years old. Not dissing on auto’s but I don’t feel the same connection to the machine. Even when I had a ‘63 Ranchero with a HiPo 289 w/a B&M kitted trans I never felt connected. But, that thing was crazy to drive anyway!

Ford's manuals are easy to learn on, I should have taught my one friend on my Bronco instead of my old Audi

Still, definitely should install a steeda clutch line and teach Jr.ette

I love having a manual minus being in traffic. It's cool to actually listen to the motor and learn the shift points like that.

One thing I do recommend to help your experience more is add a shifter. On 18+ they do come with a steel clutch line so no need to upgrade that unless you want a bleeder version. I put the Barton Hybrid 3 in my 18 7 years ago at 200 miles and it was one of the best things I ever did. Smooth shifts, no lock outs in higher RPM and been rock solid!

We offer this one along with MGW so if you do decide upgrade, let us know if we can help

The 6 speed provides tons of enjoyment! Always a blast driving. I will say if you enjoy the 6 speed in the GT you really should try out the Tremec on the GT350 or the Mach 1. It is even better!

Yeah, well, the initiation fee is a little steep to join that club....

Same here. I own 4 cars (that run) and they all have manual transmissions.
In 2019 rented an automatic Mustang for a weekend, and I decided if I ever bought a Mustang it would have to be manual.
So, it is. 😁

Every so often I drive my girlfriend's Accord or my parents' hybrid minivan, or something else that reminds me I don't like automatics.

My last rentals, I drove on mountain roads (Mustang in VA, Kia in NM), and the transmission just didn't understand the assignment.

It's a bummer that my girlfriend (well, fiancé now) gave up so quickly on driving a manual transmission, but her daughter is interested. She has gotten as far as driving my Mustang on a public road one night, in light traffic. 😃

I grew up in a household that didnt have stick and had to learn it, friend at a local ford dealer taught me on ‘10 & below Mustangs, Foci and other cars, then had to trade my classmate monsters for lessons on his New Edge V6

Out of all my cars, 3 were manual, 5 autos, so gotta pump my numbers up. Also drove all 3 s550 engines with Autos, it only truly works with the V8 imo

To be fair though, these cars almost drive themselves too. My daily is a '95 Ranger with a 5 speed, switching between it and the Mustang really makes you appreciate what we can do with computers these days. (Hill hold assist, automatic rev matching on downshifts, anti stall logic..)

Yes you should teach your daughter in it, but then let her be humbled driving an older manual too, ha ha.

When I bought my Mach 1 it had been 10 years since I owned a manual car (not by choice) I was so worried but it was like riding a bike. It's one of the easiest I've ever driven and still is fun.

Only performance automatic I've driven was a c8 and yeah it was not boring by any means but I just wish it came with a stick.
I knew it was almost dead when I saw young people commenting on BAT/cars and bids "too bad it's a stick" )=

I love mine. I switched back from auto this past year after being auto only for at least a decade... I only had manual from the time I was 16 til then. I agree, the modern Mustang is a breeze to drive and is so satisfying. Although I have driven the MT 82 variant (Bullitt) and my Mach 1 and I must say I really enjoy the Tremec, it is really nice. Especially with the MGW shifter... Very mechanical and enjoyable to row thru the gears. And the auto rev match is really awesome..

I've had a '02 GT, '03 Cobra and now a '22 GT. All were/are manuals. Just what I enjoy.

I remember many years ago, a guy saw my Viper at an event and asked if an automatic was available. I told him they weren't...and he replied that he'd just have to get a Prowler. Prowler's great... but not even close...
