Stereo base 4.3" head unit upgrade: Ideas? Plans?***

Scosche said they may have info on their in dash kit by SEMA in November. No exact ETA yet though. Can't wait for a nice double din kit to run an aftermarket nav/stereo.

I liked the features of the iDatalink kit with Maestro the best for the s197. I just want to be able to have an aftermarket large screen for backup, maintain voice control for making calls/playing music, adding satellite and hopefully an HDMI(MHL) connection to connect phone. With the Kenwood and Maestro solution you also had those gauges on screen which would be great.

Yes, works well other than Sync. The Chinese one uses a bypass to "use" sync. Hit the button, it activates factory syn, then bypasses and uses the aftermarket sync controler. We have two options. Read the original sync then write to the aftermarket sync. Or bypass the bypass back to original sync. We have not messed with it in a few days.
I would love the interface mod to try something. Pm sent.

In USA market, the car stereo for Ford Mustang 2015 is not car dvd player, just use a big touch screen to replace small screen, and there are many problems-Laguage is not english, can is issues. We offer no support and no more will produce for market in USA.

In addition to the Taobao that has Lein and the eBay unit, which other aftermarket units are you trying?

We have a lot of info here , plus the impressing work fitting the Oem unit and I getting lost...

I've done four different systems.

Àftermarket one designed for a focus.(my car)
Taobao kit (my car)
EBay kit (not my car)
Factory MFT Zack/Jmr way! ( my car)

All the after market ones had laugage issues and other bugs. Some may consider minor, some (me) hated the system because of them. Did they function? Yes. They all did. My option is to spend the little extra time, and it isn't bad at all, and do the factory MFT conversion. JMR061 was, know had limited quantities on hand, offering the screen, APIM, A6 card and programing for $500 to members here ( please contact him to verify this is still available ) Both Zackmd1 and JMR went above and beyond to help me through a few questions I had. The factory swap will cost more than the EBay kit, but is WELL worth it.

For those with the other kits. I sent SamsGT my spare stuff, as he's playing with the software on them.

None. Fully functional MFT. You will not have climate controls on screen but that quadrant has been replaced with the date. See the OP in this thread

Looks to be the "cheaper" one where the bezel sticks out a bit. As far as I can tell its identical to the one being sold on ebay that runs Windows CE. I think its the same seller actually. Pretty tempting for only $300... so much potential if only the software/language issues are resolved.

Mines a tomtop unit and it doesn't stick out at all

The sync being in Chinese sucks for people who uses voice command but luckily that doesn't apply to me.. The only other issue I have is the clock on the navigation app works perfect but the one on the home screen is always an hour off which I can't seem to figure out.
