The steering wheel is lame on the first-gen S550. It’s too thin, too big (circumference) and the material sucks.

The first thing I noticed when sitting in the refresh last year was how much better the steering wheel felt. It’s thicker and made with better materials.

Has anyone upgraded to a 2018 steering wheel? I know the 350 wheel is a popular option (I’m seriously considering it). Will the 350 in 2018/2019 also receive a refreshed wheel?

I want something thicker and with better materials first and foremost and then a slightly smaller diameter would be great too.

I believe the new GT350 wheels are exactly the same. I went with a GT350 wheel and like it a lot. It's much better than the stock wheel and I prefer the alcantara over leather, the flat bottom looks cool too. haha As I recall the 2018 models have a different airbag so you might have to buy an airbag to if you go that route.

The stock steering wheel for 2015-2017 is awful. It blows my mind that Ford went a step backwards compared to the 2013-2014 wheel which offered similar leather to that of the new 2018 steering wheel (not quite as thick, but a smooth sport-style leather and definitely not the cheap vinyl-esq leather of the 2015-2017).
Anyway, pretty sure that the 2018+ has a new/different airbag cover on its steering wheel, so it would be much easier for you to swap to a GT350 wheel comparatively.

A few places make 350 like wheels but non have a 2018+ version.

Anyone know if the 350 steering wheels have a heated version?

There’s no heated steering wheel function for the 2018 GT350 wheel. I’m honestly unsure how that would affect the alcantara on the wheel, anyway.
Once my 2019 comes in, the moment that there’s a flat-bottom heated steering wheel available, I will be upgrading. :p

I'd be willing to give up the heated feature too.

I just put a Wheelskins leather wrap on mine, and I'm happy with that. Feels much better now.

I put this wheel (only with Red Stitching) on my wifes 2015. Awesome wheel. Really like the shape and feel. Make the interior look like it should have from Ford. Pretty easy to install as well.
This is the one I might go with but no 2018+ version yet.

I emailed SVE but that didn't go anywhere.

As soon as Beith comes out with a wheel for the 18 I'm dropping coin.

Expensive but so many customization options.

I was wondering if they would match the stitching and stripe to exterior color.

Can you drop some pictures please?

That's an interesting idea, depending on how it looks.

Theirs a new gt350 wheel that will fit 2015s? Or is it just the same 350 wheel as before?
