I felt this deserved it's own post as people have brought it up on other posts not directly related.

I will be picking up my base GT PP with Recaro's in a few weeks and have been wondering.... Since we don't have the toggle switches with different drive and steering modes, what will a base GT PP have as its one and only setting? I would like to think it would be the track or race setting (forgot what it it referred to as).

Ford, can you answer?

you have a steering feel switch

also the 'modes' are mainly for stability and traction calibration, as well as throttle input. All of them can be turned on and off in the base models through the track-apps or some kind of settings menu. The toggle switches with drive modes on premium models are just Ford-engineered stability and traction maps for different driving needs.

Again, ultimately you can still switch the nannys off for full performance driving. As for throttle, I am pretty sure they have a responsive throttle with any PP car

You know for certain that the 3 different steering feel modes can be selected in a base GT PP?

Oh my, I have made a huge mistake. That was my post in the other thread citing the lack of a button for steering weight adjustment. I just found a decent res shot of the base IP. This might be a good surprise for you, OP. :)

Aha! Thank you my friend, that indeed looks like a little steering wheel icon on the 3rd button over from the start button. Yes!

I think I read somewhere that you can set the steering weight setting via the 4.2" screen between the tach and speedo like you can in the 2013/14 models?

You mean the stereo? The base still has an aluminum dash.

Yeah I am more than happy with the base GT PP setup. Really don't see that much of an issue with the screen and buttons. I think that is getting blown out of proportion. Honestly, the only thing I would want from premium is the ability to order the premiere trim - only for the soft touch upper door panels and the genuine stitched dash panel. The rear diffuser from premium is nice too, but I will take care of that by either painting it black or doing the RTR diffuser if applicable to the base rear fascia.

Thank you, I'm glad there's at least one other person who understands the meaning of words. The first (and last time) I tried pointing out to someone they were saying that incorrectly I got blasted about it being the same either way... Sure... and no means the same thing as yes I suppose...

I sure can. :)

Standard on every Mustang is electric power-assisted steering (EPAS) with selectable steering effort. Settings include Comfort, Normal, and Sport.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I was pretty sure they just replaced the toggle switch with a button on the base models.
Yep, Malikona! On the base models, there are three buttons where the toggle switches are on the Premium models.
