So, they say it's supposed to be easy install.

Well, looks like the 2016 Mustang added seem sealer to the area where the rails mount. Rails will not mount flat now, since this is in the way and it sticks out a quarter inch. Wtf....

Anyone else have this issue? And how did you resolve it?

No issues installing mine. Mounted right up and a perfect fit. First I have heard of this problem.

No problems mounting mine, you say that's sealer, looks like a weld to me, why that's there is very strange.

Grind it off. Problem solved.
Exactly what I wanted to avoid. Too scared to do that.

But screw it, that's what I did. Die grinder took the stuff off with ease....now flush with the panel.

Seam sealer I believe and I have read elsewhere on here where you can use a razor blade knife to cut it off.

Known item. Just take a putty knife and skim it off flush to the body. Most people need this done to install all brands of jacking rails

OP - yes, some cars have the sealant ... are you all set with install?

Best Regards,

Mine had sealer, and I just bolted them on and it compressed it. No biggie. I didn't remove the sealer at all.

Installed mines a few weeks ago and didn't realize there were sealers on it. Left it there and compressed them too. Rails still works fine. Had the car jacked up 6 times already.
