Just finished installing Steeda Ultralight Low Profile Jacking Rails on my GT and I wanted to put my my 2 cents for anyone thinking of this mod.

I don't have 2 cents, rather 2 words.. DO IT

Incredibly easy install. The exact definition of "bolt on part". 4 bolts for each side and you can easily jack up your car in half the time! :headbang:

Here are some up-close pictures of the install as well as a video that includes the install

Why only 3? The rails come with 4.

I did this last weekend without jacking the car up. I used a woman's tabletop mirror to see the bolts & holes. Only hard part was screwing the bolts correctly because the mirror image is reversed.

Typo! There are 4 on each - fixed

Whats the big deal about these things? Do they let you jack up the car from any part of the rail?

I agree 100% with the OP. These have made my life so much easier and less stressful. It really should be a first mod.

The small investment up front ... pays dividends with time saved working on the car down the road!

You will be very happy with these jacking rails - both from a quality & practicality standpoint!

Best Regards,

TJ

Yeah, the only problem is that after you install these you can't really jack up just the front end or just the rear end (using the side rails). You either jack up both right wheels, both left wheels, or all 4 (using 4 jack stands). But...it's totally worth it. Makes getting the car off the ground a piece of cake, as opposed to a nerve-wracking experience. I definitely recommend them.

Looking forward to getting a set. I've had my car on jackstands 3 times in the past 2 months. Would have made a huge difference...

Did anyone not grind off the seam sealer? Would it be ok to just bolt over it and leave it alone?

It's best to remove the seam sealer to install.Just enough to clear, apply primer sealer to the area before installing the jacking rails
