I have a 2017 car and fitted the Steeda spring straight away. I removed the Steeda spring yesterday after having it for a month and went back to stock as it made the clutch peddle quite heavy. I must say the standard spring is way better so far, although I haven't spent a massive amount of time in traffic and will not be going back. Maybe Ford have changed something for the 2017 cars?

Can I get the Spring from Haynes Ford in Maidstone Kent?
Yes indeed. They should have it in stock and can also fit it for you.

Mine is an MY17 and there's no way I'd go back... I think you've given the only negative review so far so I'd say the majority seem to rate it

I suspect it was changed on the my17 cars as mine feels better than the dealers demo car

I know I can't believe it, I got it and it just didn't work on my car. I test drive one of the dealers cars last week and thought my clutch was so heavy and after going back to the stock spring am well happy now. Maybe it the way it's set up??

Thanks, I might not have wanted to pay the ÂŁ9 delivery but I still wanted the spring, so I had no choice but to pay :D

Maybe someone else would like to take you up on that offer ?

Hey Jason, how easy was refitting the stock spring? I'd heard it was a bitch...

It was way easier that I thought I took about 2 minutes. Push the stock spring in holder into position and use a large screwdriver to push into place- easy!

I think this is a great mod. I have come from a 981 Cayman S, the gearbox and clutch on that car are nothing short of sublime. When I drove my 2017 Mustang I found the clutch very grabby at slow speeds.

I guess it depends what car you have been driving before. If your previous cars have had a shonky clutch feel, you'll not notice the difference. The Steeda spring gives a far more linear feel, the standard is very snatchy and in slow traffic it was truly awful.

Does anyone have these for sale or is it a case of buying on the Steeda website with ÂŁ9 Postage?

if you've got a new 2017 model then there's no point if I understand it correctly as ford changed the specs of the standard spring to be closer to the steeda one.

Seems a bit hit and miss, I have a 2016 and don't have an issue with the spring... at all. Drove a '66 plate that also didn't, but know a lot of been having issues with it.

A lot of people have issues with gears as the gearbox is quite notchy, unless some wizardy happens with the clutch spring pedal, the notchyness of the box isn't fixed by it !

I think it is more knowing where the bite point is before I start bunny hopping down the road. Doesnt happen when all the time but I can imagine the spring would help.
