I have yet to install mine and wanted to compare them back to back but haven't had time. Do you notice it to be more linear?
I guess you can say that. It is just different from the amount of pressure you need to use and feel on your foot. But linear is a good way to explain it going down. It is definitely lighter to push down, but you do feel the tension on the return. I am used to tension throughout on the other manuals I have driven, but I have no issues with this. Just getting use to the feel.

I will try to install mine this week.

Has anyone confirmed or denies the claims of damage to the slave cylinder if using no spring?

just bought an ‘18 that came with the steeda spring, and even so, the bite point feels very vague compared to other manuals I’ve driven.

Thinking about popping the spring out if it’s not going to damage the car.

Have you considered giving a clutch pedal stop a try to remove the excess freeplay in the clutch and make it feel more predictable? It’s an easy install and adjustment. See post #2 here:

Could you elaborate as to why/how it fixes the clutch feel?
My guess is probably the same as stainless steel brake hoses vs rubber, it usually allows a more consistent and full pressure from the fluid vs rubber which has small flexes and expands with fluid shoved in it.

I can only say that, together with a spring whose spring rate is between standard and Steeda, it has satisfied my need for an good-to-operate clutch.

If you are not satisfiied after changing the clutch line, the problem is in the bell housing.

Thanks, I’ll check that stuff out as well. Do you guys think the spring is actually necessary or just to give a lighter clutch feel to people with limited leg strength?

I removed the steeda this morning for my quick 10 minute drive to work to see if there was a difference. I can definitely tell where the bite point is a lot more clearly without it. Pedal didn’t feel any “heavier” or “stiffer” to me.

I don't think it has anything to do with leg strength, it just feels better. I had the stock one for 2 years and have had the steed for about 3 now, will not be going back to stock.

For clarification - I didn’t reinstall the factory spring, I just removed the assist spring completely.

@geep81 Check out this, maybe you end up in between: https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/clutch-adjustment.192403/#post-3862379
My sweet spot is a 124 lbs/in spring.

I hated the steeda spring it in the first big traffic jam with stop & go, thats why I started to figure out what is between OEM and Steeda.

I probably wouldn't have changed anything in the spring if I had replaced the plastic line first.
That is very interesting thanks for sharing. I also saved that clutch line, I am very interested in trying that.

For me the spring just made the resistance feel uniform through the entire action of press/release. Where as the stock spring had a very

heavy---oh not so heavy be careful cause it's moving now!!! Feeling! 🤷🏻‍♂️
