I've seen different numbers for stock tune (105 rings a bell), so I can't say for sure there. I know my Lund tune pulls @ 124 (it may be just below that, but you can see in datalogs that it wasn't at 120 but was at 124).

Someone else should be able to chime in on specific values.
Stoli,

I was wrong about the gt350 intake! It looks like totally sealed, even from the right side as you can see in the picture.

Very nice that is exactly the problem area I am trying to seal off:headbang:

There is one problem in the gt350 intake though, if i m not mistaken, the vent is located in the front center of the hood not the sides as on the gt! How in the world, the hot air is going to escape between the intake and the hood?

If it's sealed against the hood there's no way for it to escape...so in theory the only air entering the intake should be through the snorkel mounted to the front grill.

Yup, it is assumed adiabatic conditions even sitting at idle, at stop or traffic, which is not going to be the case. If the car had a vent there though, it would be great!

Maybe we should actually try to seal the box completely to the vent instead of blocking it with a cover!

Stang Racer do you copy? :gossip:

Looking to do my first Mod:) The Steeda CAI looks great and i am going with a NO tune cai for now with the option to change to a tune later. I like the 22 HP gain but I need a little help, I have searched Steeda site and YouTube for a vid of the Dyno and the test car on the Dyno or at the race track. I can not find anything I am sure that Steeda did a vid of this Dyno. If someone here or at Steeda could post a link to this Dyno or track testing would love to see it! Thanks about to pull the trigger:thumbsup:
Here you go!

That would have been a good test if you closed the hood...

Agreed. Open element always flows better and pulls cooler air on Dyno with hood open.

I have the Steeda CAI and when the vehicle is moving my IAT temps run about 5 to 10 degrees over ambient.
If you close the hood during dyno you're going to get higher IAT temps which would not be in line with actual driving conditions. If opening the hood during dyno gets you closer to actual IAT while driving then it seems you'd want to do that.

They also flow better and pull cooler air when it's being channeled into the air box while at speed on the road.

Either way, it was an apples to apples test. Same IAT and cylinder head temp for both runs, same day, same dyno, same operator, 93 octane, etc.
