Evolvd - nice write-up. How are the intake temps when in traffic / city driving when compared to ambient temps? I'm just curious how this compares to the JLT; it looks like the Steeda may seal against the hood a little better...

So far I've noticed while driving around 45-55mph the intake temp is about 6 degrees warmer than ambient, and around 25-35 it's maybe 8-10. I haven't really done any datalogging, this is just observation from one day of driving.

How does this compare to the stock intake system buddy for the temps?

Does car feel any quicker at all?

My stock intake temps were usually in the teens to 20s higher than ambient. And it feels like I picked up some power but won't know till I get back on the dyno.

Wow, that's high. Is that driving or stopped? Stock air box, I get 7-8* higher while driving. That's max. Then teens or higher while stopped.

Like I said, I haven't done any kind of logging so all of this is just casual observation after 1 day of driving.

Looks good. How much did is advertised for non-tuned gains? Wasn't it 10-15rwhp?

So my question is this, Im on the fence of buying this CAI. I currently have the SCT x4 and the corsa extremes. I have the canned tune on but I remember that when reflashing the ECU the only intake option on the SCT was for the JLT. I see Steeda offers 2 different versions of the CAI, one for a tune and one without a tune. If I buy the tune version how and where do I get the steeda tune option on my SCT tuner?

You must be able to feel it

My only question is... I know you can run it without a tune but surely it makes the engine run leaner? Reducing power?

You can buy a tune from them and load it with your SCT. I think it's $99 and they'll also take the cat back into account.

The "no tune" CAI does not affect your A/F ratio. If you pull the restricter out you need a tune.

You should be able to order a tune through Lund for your x4
