Got my Stainless Power Headers from Teambeefcake and started the install today.. But before I did I looked over the headers real close .. These headers are very very nice , welds are very nice looking ..Someone PM me and told me the Stainless Power Headers didn't come with the power cone that the SW Headers does , well they are wrong because the sure do have the power cone in the collector like the SW have ..

The install is a hard but Headers on 440 in a 69 Cuda are much harder ..I have both sides on now and the fit is GREAT .. Then I went to install the easy parts ,Hi flow cats and the pipes to stock exhaust .. Trouble:eyebulge: ... SW packed the wrong pipes .. They sent me the 2 1/2 connector's and should have sent the 2 1/4 connector's to fit the stock exhaust ..The part number on the box was right so someone slipped up and boxed them wrong :frusty:..

No problem , Terry at Beefcake is taking care of the problem and sending me the right pipes ..

These are great Headers and Cats for a great price , 1095.00 ..
Can wait for my first test ride !!!!

I had the same problem. My guy just did some pipe work to make them fit. when I got a call that the stuff wouldnt mate to my stock exhaust I was pissed. but it worked out. Seems like SW goofed up twice

You must have ratcheting wrenches with the pivoting closed end head.. I got mine from Harbor Freight , they have a very nice set for 24.00 bucks ...Sears wanted 99.00 bucks ...You need a 13MM and a 15MM ...You need a 1/4 drive set with a 1/4 socket to remove the Exhaust studs from the heads.. On both sides I left the front two studs in place to hold the gasket and hang the new header .. Taking it apart is not to bad, putting it back together is harder ...The new headers make hard to get to the top starter bolt ..I would say the pass side is the hardest .. The drivers side has a bit more room to work with .. But the drivers side upper center header bolts are hell to get to and tighten .. I did this on ramps and it made for about 6 Hours of work ..A lift would a take a lot less time , a lot less cussing and blood loss .. Be careful because there are sharp spots on the block that will slice and dice you in a heart beat .. I have done harder headers so I would rate these a 6 or 7 on a scale of 10 being the hardest ..CJ's pony parts has a very nice video on a install of a set of ARH headers ..While the header are different you still have to do the same things ..If I were you I would watch the video first .. After seeing the video you might want to pay someone to do the install ..I wanted to save the money so I could get more mods, so it was worth it to me to do the install myself .. I'm just shy of 60 years old and have been a auto and bike tech for 44 years , so what might seem easy for me might be hard for others ..
I will end with this , doing it yourself gives you a great deal of pride in your ride .. :)

I had read that one was a PITA.. do you mean the ratcheting wrenches with the pivoting closed end head? Do you remember what size it is?
Exhaust bolts ( nuts ) are 15MM .. Motor mounts bolts are 13MM .. The bolts that come with the headers are 13MM .. 17MM for the O2s ..A 3/8 air racket helps because most of the bolts are lock type bolts or have lock tight on them ..You will need a few different size extensions and a swivels ( 3/8 ) More tools you have will make the job easier..

How long was install?
About 6 hours but some of that time was me looking for the right tools...lol ... Now that I have done a set I could do it in maybe 4 hours time .. I still have to install the lead pipes once I get the right ones from Terry (Teambeefcake) ,but that takes no real time to install them ..

It's also easier if you take out the intake box for those top bolts

Very true ... I didn't do this but removing the battery box would also be a help for the rear bolts on the pass side header ..

I watched that video a couple weeks ago and have a link saved for reference. Did you disconnect the steering like they do in that video?

I don't have the right lead pipes so I have not started it yet ...FedEx show my lead pipes will be here Friday ...:( So I will most likely have it running Sat with the new Tune for the headers ..

I'm trying hard to fight the urge to get headers. My only saving grace is price and the install. Even with the cheaper JBA and SP headers you still need to weld up the leads. Might as well get the full header at that point.
