Well, I just got it back from the dealer. They had to order the parts. Backordered until April 27th. At least they washed it for me :)

Anybody know if the TSB replaces ALL the rotors and pads? Or just the front?

My dealer just called and said the parts are IN. Pretty cool that they are in almost 3 weeks early. I'm bringing it in tomorrow morning. Lets hope the squeal is gone!!

Hey guys,

Just reporting in something i discovered a few days. After taking my EB 'Stang to Canyon Running, my car squealing has stopped for the past 2 days. It seems with performance package brakes, you need to REALLY Brake-it-in as in hitting a canyon run and really punching your car in these hills. For the past 2300 miles (2 months), I've been experiencing squeals (During low speed towards the stoplight or low speeds in the parking lot). I was debating if i should get it changed per TSB, but I'll give it another couple days if it permanently stopped. I'm glad i took a chance. I guess it's the result cause of watching Fast 7.

I hope this helps.
Thanks for the insight guitrflip! Glad to hear it's all cleared up. Let me know if the issue returns, or if you have future concerns. I'm here to help. :)

I have the squealing too, but it only happens after it rains and i start the car up cold, or after i wash it and water gets on the rotors. Should i take it in and have them look at it?
Couldn't hurt, Tamadrummer88. I know I spoke with you before, but let me know if you want to take her in. I'll keep an eye on my PMs.

What a great surprise! Let me know if you need further assistance, lint28.

My squeal is gone. 500 miles on new pads and rotors.
Good to hear EcoboostJim! Let me know if you have any future questions or concerns.

I am really interested to hear updates on "the fix" and on the idea of really bedding the brakes as a solution. I am a ways from the dealer and super busy, so getting the car in just hasn't happened yet. My squeal is intermittent but frequent after nearly 9,000 miles, but I have not really given the brakes a workout. I need to find a piece of empty road and do that; it makes some sense that a good heat cycle could help what may be some kind of glazing issue.

Also, if "the fix" isn't a fix, I am not going to bother. If it works reliably then I will get the car in to the dealer and get it done.

I have tried the "bedding" and found it to be a short term fix. I am sitting in the dealer's service department right now, while the TSB is installed.

I turned over 10,000 miles yesterday, and have found the squealing noise to have gotten progressively worse. When it first started, it was only the first couple of low speed stops in my neighborhood in the morning, especially if it was cold or rainy. For the last few thousand miles, it shows up on almost all low speed (walking speed) braking. It completely sucks in rush hour stop & go traffic.

I am a little bit skeptical of the "fix", but I am willing to give it a try. I put a lot of miles on my car, so I should see some results fairly quickly.

Here's hoping....

I've got about 5k miles on mine and the squeal was getting much worse from a month ago. I just got back from the dealership with the TSB repair. I had a silent 2 mile drive back to work... I feel like a ninja now!!! The big test will be the mornings. I'll keep you updated.

I've had the fix for about 2 weeks now and no squealing at all. No noise even after I washed my car. I'm finally happy to own this car. I still have a few issues with the paint but my biggest issue was the squealing brakes. You should be happy with the results.

Mine sounds like a dump truck and still no word from the dealer or CSM. The noise is constant now at 4,700 miles. My wife can hear me turn into the neighborhood a1/2 mile away.

Same here. Fortunately, my dealer finally stepped up to the plate and ordered the parts. The new rotors for my car are a week or two out by their estimation.

Hey Millgeo5,

I checked into your case notes; it looks like your CSM left a voicemail for you on 4/2. Did you receive that? Also, she has a follow-up set for today, so look out for that call. :)

Tamadrummer88....no need to take it to the dealership for this....it is VERY normal! Think about it. Your rotors are shiny from being continually rubbed by the brake pads. What your car is experiencing after rain, very damp weather or a car wash is called flash rust. The exposed shiny rotors actually get a very thin layer of rust on them while the car sits idle. You can hear the pads squeal against this flash rust, as you first move the car....once you use your brakes, the pads wipe the flash rust off the rotors and everything is quiet and fine again. Try looking at your rotors after you've washed, but before moving the car after it's sat....you'll see a very thin, brown layer of the flash rust on them. Again...this is very normal and occurs on lots of brake systems...including mine on both my Mustang and my F 150 pickup....nothing to worry about at all.

I got the TSB fix yesterday morning (new front rotors and pads) and I can't believe how quiet it has been.

I have put over 500 miles on since yesterday morning, and it has been completely silent - even in the situations where it *always* squealed before.

I am still not positive that the problem is solved, time will tell, but I am amazed how much I cringe every time I stop at low speeds. I can feel myself tensing up in anticipation of the noise, and I have to make myself relax.

So far, though, so good.
