It's funny that I still find myself expecting the squeal and then I'm pleasantly surprised when there's no noise.Glad to report back that I drove it this morning (mornings are usually the loudest) and no squeals!! Hope it continues. I can finally drive my car again and not be embarrassed!
It may be out of your way but try speaking with Joe Green on the phone. He may have a set of rotors already available. Give McCoy-Mills Ford a call. They're in Fullerton. I bought my car at Montebello Ford and that guy has been extremely helpful. He just told me to do him a favor and not come in with the Montebello Ford license plate decal (yes he was joking).I sent a PM to FordService, hopefully they can help me with getting the parts ordered ahead of time. I don't want to be given the run around from my local dealer...
Hello all.
Here is my experience from start to finish over the last few months if this helps others see the light at the end of the TSB rainbow.
I took delivery of my 2015 race red mustang GT premium during the second week of December 2014. By January 1, 2015 (about 500 miles), the right front brake made the extremely loud squeal as others have described within this thread.
My squeal occurred at slower parking lot speeds, slowing down for a speed bump or pulling into the garage. The squeal was unique to speeds of 1 to 5 MPH and light breaking. The type of weather/climate conditions or position of the front tire in relation to the steering wheel was irrelevant. The right front brake simply made the squealing noise under these conditions.
I initially cleaned the right front brake assembly, tried different brake pad shims and tried hard stopping. Regrettably nothing worked.
Around the second week of January 2015, I made a service appointment at Gaudin Ford in Las Vegas because the sound was driving me crazy. Not unexpected, I was the only person claiming the front brake made this horrible squeal. I described the conditions to the service tech. The service tech took the entire right front brake assembly apart, inspected and cleaned. The service tech then took my vehicle for a road test. The service tech heard a minor brake squeal when driving around the block and informed me he did not hear the squeal at the level I described.
I indicated to the service tech you did not listen to what I initially described to you. The squeal only occurs at very low parking lot speeds with minimal braking pressure. I asked the service tech to jump in my car and we would drive around the Gaudin Ford parking lot. He agreed. I put the windows down to make sure he would hear the brake squeal. Within seconds of driving the car and braking within their parking lot, I replicated the sound over and over. The service tech said, “That’s awful, your car should not be doing that!” I said exactly!
At that point the service tech called Ford engineering and Gaudin Ford was notified my car’s condition was a known issue with Ford, but no TSB had been issued at the time. The service tech assured me the brakes were working properly but the sound was the obviously problem.
Gaudin Ford said there was nothing they could do at the time because a TSB had not been issued yet (still mid-January 2015) and sent me on my way. I was disappointed, but could understand the dealership’s position. Gaudin Ford nor I had a safety concern with the ability to stop the car. It was just a pain and embarrassing hearing this squealing noise. At least I had my condition documented with the service department which is what I was looking overall for.
Let me reiterate by saying the brakes were working properly in terms of stopping. There was no safety issue in my mind. The brakes stopped as designed. The squealing sound from them was the issue.
When I was done with my mid-January 2015 appointment, I began to look at this Mustang forum thread and saw I was not alone. I have certainly appreciated everyone sharing their collective wisdom on the subject matter. This is why I am sharing my experience as well.
Now let’s fast forward to a couple weeks ago to the March 10, 2015 TSB 15-0030 release. As soon as the copy of TSB 15-0030 was released on this thread, I made a copy of it. I then made my second appointment Friday 13, 2015 at Gaudin Ford service. I showed the service tech TSB 15-0030. He did not know of this TSB yet which was OK since it just came out three days ago. The service tech remembered my car. He asked if it was still making the noise. I informed him it was. I told him let’s go for another ride in your parking lot. Within ten feet of light braking, it made that awful squealing sound. The service tech told me heard enough and would order the TSB parts.
On March 20, 2015, Gaudin Ford calls and informs me the parts just came in. We scheduled a third appointment for today 03/23/2015. I now have new rotors and brake pads on my front. It took not more than 1.5 hours for them to swap out new rotors and pads.
This is a big shout out to Gaudin Ford in Las Vegas for working with their customers and doing things in a timely manner when made aware of the TSB fix. So far, so good and no stupid brake squeal for the first time in many months!
Best regards to the rest of you experiencing this problem. It seems like the fix is OK based upon my limited miles with the new rotors and pads. There are some good Ford dealerships out there. For those experiencing bad dealerships, you could probably use a road trip out to Las Vegas. Play at the casino while Gaudin Ford fixes your car.
Our pleasure, IvanCRF! We'll be here should you ever need anything down the road. Thanks for the info, man.
I'd like to thank Ford Service on here as well for helping me get my TSB parts ordered and using their influence on dealerships to help ensure customer satisfaction.

Same here! I have my car for 3 days now since my dealer performed the recall on the rotors and pads and all is good!

Any word from others who have gotten the repair if they are all smaller and with the white center hub ?Thanks for the pics. I do agree, they definitely look smaller. The center hub also looks white in your pics.

I don't think punching in the VIN works, because I tried that on myfordowner.com and it didn't pull any TSB's up for mine, but who knows right.Had an appointment at the dealer this morning for this.
The good news is that the brakes squealed like a dump truck when they were moving it into the service bay. So loud that the other guy in the waiting area snapped his head up and stared at me... I just smiled and shrugged a little.
They told me that they ordered the parts indicated in the TSB, but that they were back ordered till 4/27. Not really thrilled with that.
The other weird thing was that I mentioned the TSB to the service tech while I was playing the video on my phone for him. An hour later he came into the waiting room and said that he wasn't able to locate any TSBs which applied to my car. I had my computer with me, so I pulled up the copy of the TSB posted in this thread and gave him the number. He came back a few minutes later and thanked me and let me know he was ordering the parts.
Don't they use computers back there? I would have figured that he would punch in my VIN (or scan the barcode, more likely), and would see a list of all of the publications that apply to my car.....? Maybe that would be too easy?
