Emailed Caruso Ford in Long Beach the TSB earlier in the week. They ordered the parts, took the car in yesterday and should get it back today. They asked no questions. Thanks for everyone's help!

I just sent the tsb to my dealer Chapman Ford in Columbia Pennsylvania. They are on it. I have a great dealership close to my home.

Brake squeal is now the newest excuse for the early Feb 'holds'. First it was 'firewall'...now 'brake squeal'. I wonder what comes next to justify a 1 1/2 to 2 month hold?

Well pretty much what I expected with my luck. Went down to my local dealership, told them about my problem and that I would like it fixed per the TSB that just released (which I showed them the picture that was posted on here of the TSB). I was told that they haven't heard of it and they can't take what I show them on a picture as proof. I told them there is a 22 page thread on a mustang forum of people with this problem, which they said they can't use a forum and what people say as proof of a problem. I said that the TSB just came out and that they would have to order the parts. They said legally they cannot order the parts for a problem that they don't know if it exists or not and that they would have to hear and replicate the problem. I explained it isn't every single time and is usually later at night when it is cooler outside that it seems to happen more. They said doesn't matter they have to be the ones to replicate the problem and that they cannot take a look to replicate it until Monday. So I have to go back Monday, and if they, not me, they can't replicate it, they can't order the parts. So yeah, I can foresee my problem not being fixed.

The "We have not heard of it, don't know if it exists" when you showed them a type of document they should recognize is a crappy BS excuse. Shows you how lazy they are, and I would not want those bozos touching my car. If my dealership went so far as to even refuse to look at their own damn computer sitting in front of them to confirm what you are telling them, I would take my business elsewhere.

Why would we make this up? If we did not have the problem, we would not have gone through all this trouble to do research (i.e. searching online for forums) to begin with. :tsk:

Car is at the dealer today, but I'm also having them check into some rattles. I'll report back when I pick it up.

Great idea to record the VIN on the video.
I was basically forced to do this because I had a 10 second clip of the noise and showed it to them and they said that told them nothing. This was before the TSB came out, but when I showed them the whole video, with me getting out of the car, and recording the VIN, they shut up pretty quickly. I unfortunately only have 1 dealer in my area that I am willing to go to, the other dealer is filled with even bigger clowns who had no idea how many quarts of oil my 2011 Mustang took.

You want to talk about clowns, I'm standing next to my mustang with the service guy while he's writing down my information and he asks me "that's a 14 right?" I just stared at him for a bit with a raised eyebrow.

Car is done with the TSB, no issues so far!
I believe you win :first:
That was fast!

Hope it all ends up equally painless for the rest of us. :D
This is a good test to see which dealerships care about keeping our business...and which don't.

Is there a central 'clearing house' for Mustang TSBs? I check for recalls on all my vehicles every so often, also.
I can't use Fordowner.com to check because even tho' I am registered on COTUS with my Mustang VIN...Fordowner.com
does not recognize my name with the VIN.

squeals in the morning, squeals when i leave work.

It is a little disappointing when you go to the dealer and ask about the brake squeal or if any TSB have shown up pertaining the issue and they respond with,"could just be brake dust". I will try to call them again tomorrow morning and set up something.Tired of the squeal on my 40000 dollar Premium Gt.

Hey RCstang there is a TSB on page 21 of this thread posted by MVP90805. Save it to your computer and email or take it in to them. If you get nowhere complain to Ford Service! Good luck!
