Looking for a very mild drop, really no more than 1", as this is my year round dd. What springs would work well with the stock base GT shocks/struts without destroying them in short order? I'm not going for all-out handling, just want to decrease the wheel gap and tighten up the handling a bit so I really don't have a need to replace the dampers.

Several options, but lots of folks have used Eibach Pro kit springs with good results

I used Eibach Pro's. I had some highway bounce in the rear, so I upgraded the rear shocks to Viking Warriors. That really made it all come together

Our SP080, I specifically catered to S550 owners with stock dampers. ;)

There are hundreds of happy S550 owners using them as I type this.

Our price is about as good as it gets too, for the most engineered and thought out spring available for your car.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
