Has anyone else noticed that their speedometer is a couple ticks off the actual speed your traveling? Even the cruise control set speed indicates more accurately than the speedometer. I've verified this with multiple GPS solutions.

So I have a solution for those that must have it, your accessport(if you have one) has a gauge called "vehicle speed" and logs the highest speed as well as live vehicle speed accurate down to the hundredths! (65.78 for example)

im sure someone can code it into the mix. I was also gonna ask around and see if anybody can code shift lights...in my other car, when I was needing to shift the blinker indicator would flash then remain steady....
You haven't noticed the entire tachometer face flashing red at redline? Makes a pretty noticeable shift light.

This is only on premium models. TACHS don't change color on base model.

Digital speedometer in a HUD would be awesome.

Shift light for economy during normal driving would be annoying.

Programmable shift light in track apps for drag racing would be useful. HUD shift indicator would be even better.

I did notice that test driving one. I thought it was a nifty feature.

I daily drive a 2014 Explorer base and was dismayed when I brought my '15 GT home that it didn't have a digital speedo option like the Explorer...

How about "My Color" changing the rest of the lights in the interior too so it's not all mismatched? I just leave my dash and ambience on Ice Blue b/c I had a friend in the car and he was like, "WTF, your center stack doesn't match the instrument panel..." Yeah. :(

Bah, guess it's impossible to do within reasonable money or they'd have done it already.

Digital gauges are for cheesy '80's cars. No thank you.
Maybe, but just about every sports/Supercar have a Digital readout. You can always display something else. It's nice when you need a accurate speed such as driving through a school zone. Hope Ford is listening.

I think it's a viewing angle problem. If I sit up and lean a bit to the right so I'm looking straight on at the speedometer needle then it appears correct. All the more reason to have a digital option.

Yes, mine is off by 2mph. Example: my speedometer shows 45mph but the roadside radars show 43mph.

Am I the only one that is disappointed that a digital speedometer in the middle screen isn't an option?

Is there a way to add it aftermarket?
Aeroforce Interceptor? Put it wherever you want it, displays any two parameters, and the two little white-ish circles at the top flash red when whatever condition you set it for goes 'true'. Mine goes off at 5900 rpm (4.6L).

Always had a conspiracy theory that manufacturers do this on purpose. They know everyone is going to go at least 5+mph over the limit, so they do this.

Call me crazy but every car I've ever been in and had GPS with was off. And the car always read faster than the GPS.

My Mustang is the same way, but the damn needles are so friggin fat it's hard to tell, anyway. I f'ing hate them more than anything on the car. :frusty:

To my understanding all manufactures do this on purpose to prevent lawsuits. If the speedometer shows a slower speed that what the car is going they could be held accountable for people getting tickets so they purposely have them read slightly faster.

It would be interesting if this 2 mph dif is only with the PP's. I had this same problem with a Z4 that had a OEM different tire size in rear. I show the same 2 Mph difference from my Cruise Control numbers vs a iPhone.
