Not a fan of the car overall and if you don't mind the smell of rubber in the cab, not a bad idea. Think I would rather have a similar brace hidden in the trunk though.

Notice the gas cap is not a faux cap. The filler tube runs down the inside of the car in front of the spare tire.

If the tire is going to be exposed, why not just have it sit in the trunk without the cover in the conveniently built wheel well and just build a brace there to hold it in place?

I don't see how this is practical. I think it would in a pain in the butt to get the wheel out through the main cabin unless the trunk opens up and you can pull it from the back

Hello; Back in the 1970's Opel made a car, the Opel GT which had a closed back end. A buddy had one. No trunk opening. He had to get to the space from behind the seats.

Not to mention how would you get the seat belt around the grandkid sitting on the tire.
