Usually a tune also throws away your powertrain warranty. So I guess I would just have to deal with start/stopusually a tune can disable it or make it not be the default option.

I started this thread, but I put it here because I don't have access to post in the S-650 forum. If the mods want it there feel free to move it there, that's where it should be anyway. We really do need to stop discussing the s650 here. There's an entire forum dedicated to it, and that's the place to discuss it.
Yup, I had a C7 corvette with that LT1. I don`t think people realize how bad this stuff. Its amazing to me Ford built the current 5.0L without start/stop, AFM, and direct injection only. All those things add extra complexity and hurt long term reliability of the engine.I hope the autos don't add the active fuel management / displacement on demand garbage. This was one of the reasons why I left the Camaro and went to the Mustang. Trust me, you guys will hate it, especially with an aftermarket exhaust. You can feel and hear when it switches from V8 to V4 and vice versa:(
There has been no "official" confirmation or denial from ford regarding the A.S.S.Do we know for 100% certain at this point that all the 2024s will have Auto Stop Start as standard, no exceptions?
It wasn’t bad if you had a man pedal.Yup, I had a C7 corvette with that LT1. I don`t think people realize how bad this stuff. Actually I had a manual transmission and was able to keep it turned off. Really was never a problem for me. I just was bothered by the added complexity and knowing it could lead to problems one day. Plus I would time to time read about other people`s issues on the forum. The hardest part for me is that I owned a LS3 prior which is arguably one of the best V8 engines ever made. Going from a simple proven design to the LT1 wasn`t ideal. Of course all the sheep who bought into the new LT series V8 engine from GM overlooked it because it had 30 more horsepowerIt wasn’t bad if you had a man pedal.
Starter?!? Sure. Repeated starts in a short time period are also about the worst thing possible for the battery. Like these cars need anything else to make battery life shorter.Good to know… I can’t see that feature being of any benefit per the greenies.
I don’t care what anyone says, but that feature puts strain and a beating on the starter… not to mention the internal lubrication coming to a dead stop, draining down, then within 5 mins having to be auto-restarted and pumped through again…. Doing that 25-50x during traffic… daily…can’t be good for the longevity of the starter.
