My guess would be gear backlash in the rear. Mine has done it since new and can happen in just about any gear if you hit the clutch 'wrong'.

Used to have an IRS in my 04 Mach 1 that did it also. It was a common thing on the Terminators. My friends 04 Cobra does it. If that's what it is, you'll learn how to drive around it to minimize it.

Get under the car with it safely on a lift or Jack stands and check the driveshaft center support bearing (also known as a guibo)…. See this thread:

It’s a common wear point on the S550, some are worse than others.

When I first started driving my Mach 1, I was fairly unsmooth on my 1/2 shift and would upset the car by shifting too fast. The gap in gearing between 1st and second is fairly large and you need to wait a beat before going from one to two to allow the revs to fall enough. Maybe a completely separate issue, but try giving a bit of extra time to the one two shift to make sure you are giving enough time for the revs to drop to where you need them for 2nd gear.

Is it just sound or do you also feel it in the shifter? That would narrow it down I suspect
