Just wanted to share my thoughts.

With all the recent posts of engine failures and oil usage etc it seems like a lot of folks are not happy with there engines etc. I do not want to get into the details of Ford not honoring warranty but simply a discussion of the power plant.

In this day and age of modern cars most people expect to never check oil or basics in between recommended services. Hell a lot of people never even check tire pressure.

My point is that this vehicle and engine is basically a race engine/car on the street and it must be monitored frequently and the harder it is driven the more it needs to at least have its vitals checked regularly.

Yes this engine will go through oil more quickly than some but it is also from what I can tell based on the 11000 miles I have on mine that the harder you drive it the more oil it uses and if you cruise it its oil consumption is far less. If I drive it like I stole which I do most of the time once fully warmed up it can use 1 quart to 1 1/2 quarts in a 1000 miles.

Should ford have put a higher tension ring pack on this engine at the cost of some horsepower. I don't know but I sure like how the engine pulls effortlessly to a redline that is sky high for a fairly large displacement V8.

I do know that some of what are considered by many as some of the best engineered engines from Europe such as the E60 M5s and E90 M3s will use a quart of oil in 500 miles or less and The spec from BMW is 1 qt per 800 miles.

Should Ford have made a stronger oil pump gear who knows but I don't think there is enough proof of actual oil pump failures to warrant this. Maybe some of these failures were from running low on oil and maybe some bearing material made it way into the tight clearanced pump and caused some of the pump failures. Don't know only Ford does.

My whole point is that Ford stepped out of box to make these special vehicles for us that will require more attention and TLC than most but for me that is part of the fun of owning such a unique vehicle with this powertrain. Do we want them to no longer make these types of vehicles because some of us don't follow basic maintenance checks for a HP vehicle.

All that being said I also agree with some of those with warranty issues that FORD needs to honor there warranties and fix issues that are warrantable matters! They do not and should not honor warranties for tuned and modified vehicles or for dealers/customer that leave oil filters improperly tightened or fail to monitor there oil level etc.

I will also add this, it is my daily driver and only car and I am a dialysis patient so I need a reliable vehicle to get to and from medical treatment and it has never let me down yet.

There . . . fixed that for you.
Need to realize that things will get blown out of proportion here.
When you consider how many thousands of GT350's are out there and analyze the percentages, there really isn't that high of an occurrence of engine failures. Sure, if my GT350 had problems, I would be here to present my situation to the group, and I feel torn when a reported engine failure pops up here. But we need to keep a proper perspective on what is good within this activity.

I went through this with my C6 Z06.. some were having problems and the paranoia was up. But the reality is/was, only a very small percentage of people had problems.

For the record, I once owned a brand new Nissan Altima as my daily driver, and in year one with 7K miles on it it needed an entirely new motor.

Buy from a reputable dealer and they will take care of you.. that's why they have a good reputation in the first place.

I'm very happy with the Voodoo. Guys at Ford Performance Racing School abuse their cars at a daily basis since 2016 and the engines are fine. If you track your car, naturally you should monitor your car more frequently than you would if you tame your car. The same would be said for any car.

Ford should continue making cars like the GT350. A lot of folks are happy with their GT350s.

Yes, the Voodoo is what makes this car so special!

Agree, with GT Dave's comments. A "FEW" have had problems, yes, and they are rightfully upset and vocal. But I think the silent majority of owners are very pleased with our cars.

If Ford hadn't built it I would still be driving my GTO and HHRSS. Mine doesn't use oil and I drive it like I stole it since day 1. That said, Ford service and oversight of dealer network stinks. Corporately, the right hand has no idea what the left hand is doing.

I've owned over 50 cars. Not a single muscle car (domestic sport car). I bought the GT350 because of Voodoo engine. If it were coyote engine making 700hp, I would of ignored it.

High maintenance and issues (flat plane v8 shakes everything apart) are to be expected. Most here won't experience issue as most are garage queens. So percentage with isssues is actually higher than it appears on the forum. But I still take it because of 8,250rpm

If Ford didn't build the Voodoo, I would have continued not getting a Mustang and most likely found myself in another Vette, and most likely a C7Z

If Ford didn't build the Voodoo, I'd continue to believe I wouldn't ever buy an American car. Probably would have waited on the Supra, different timeline. Current timeline just has VOODOOVOODOO on the horizon and beyond.

I am glad the masses seem to agree this is a great engine and great car!

I really enjoy driving mine and every day when I start it up and switch the exhaust to sport it makes me smile!

That being said I do agree with everyone that FORD needs to do the right thing and take care of those of you who have issues that are under warranty and not bury there head in the sand or make people jump through major hoops for poor dealership support network etc.

Ford you make a great product now stand up behind it for those that actually need support and prove that you are a great company and don't let some of dealers destroy what you have built!

YES

YES! Best sounding motor/exhaust IMO of all time.

Now, NOT the best vehicle to own if it is your only car used as a daily driver to get you to life saving dialysis treatments.

Then again happiness is worth something and if it makes you happy despite the risks, so be it. If my motor fails me I will run for the hills and never touch another high end Ford product because I am admittedly a whiny little bitch and don't deal well with hassles. :D Does that make me a fair weather fan? Yes it does.
