I appreciate the posts, as I need to do the same now. Can you provide me with your contact at Inner City or Passport? I also want enclosed, since the dealer mine is at has "White Stuff" on the ground and 2 mountain passes to clear.:eyebulge:

Yup, I did call them.
Thanks to this list, I might actually save 8-900 on shipping!

Just picked mine up in Oklahoma and drove back to CA. Only took a couple of days on HWY40. Car is so easy to drive, plus there were no issues with weather or traffic for me. Some snow in NM, but roads were clear.

I have a post about the drive somewhere here.

I considered it an opportunity, and had a great time seeing the scenery in places I might not otherwise visit.

Did you do anything to protect the paint on the drive? Any regrets driving on the HWY40? I will be picking mine up in March and driving from OKC to San Diego.

For those that shipped, how long was your wait for an available transport to pick up the car?

Since this car will be sharing daily driver duties, I have decided not to get too caught up in the paint quality. I therefore didn't do anything special to protect the paint.

HWY 40 was an awesome drive. Two lanes in each direction, 75 MPH limit with everyone going at least that fast. Very smooth. Drivers were all courteous about passing and moving over to the right.

The only thing I would do would be to stay well back from any trucks, then pass them quickly and decisively in order to minimize the chances of getting struck by debris. The speed at which the car goes from 80 to 100 is amazing.

The car finally arrived last night. It took 9 days from Florida to California. Truck picked it up two days after it arrived at the dealership. The first thing I did is put car seats in the back and took the kids for a ride.

Awesome, which part of the bay are you in? I will have to keep a look out for all of the local GT350s now

Cool, I work in Santa Clara so we might cross paths one day. Quite a few other cars in the area as well.

Congrats....car looks great! The kids must be excited and that is probably the first thing I'll do when I get mine. I'll be going through the shipping routine next month from PA to WA, and I'm wondering how your experience went? Did you put the job out for bid or did you select a specific carrier? If you don't mind me asking, I'm curious what the cost was roughly?

I did the broker route. I sent out for quotes and got a bunch of responses. Prices ranged from $800 to $2200 for enclosed trailer. I spoke on the phone to a few brokers and went with the one I felt most comfortable with, he seemed to appreciate the car and understood what I wanted (enclosed trailer, lift gate, no old cars above mine, etc.). I ended up paying $1250, which was about the median of all the quotes I received. Car arrived in perfect condition, I did a through inspection and didn't find a single scratch. Whoever you choose check them out on http://transportreviews.com/.
