it will be a two hour drive from mass to ct. as long as the road has no precipitation, are the tires going to hold up or am i asking for trouble?

You will be fine, just be easy on the all the inputs since traction goes down with temp

Congratulations!

Where in CT are you?

30 degrees not ideal but if it's dry on the ground you should be fine if you drive conservatively and avoid potholes and the such. I've driven it at the same temperatures when I was bringing it up from FL.

I drove it up Mt. Diablo in the Bay Area, CA in mid 30's temps (no rain or weather of course)... the car felt great!

Make sure you have the dealer check the tire pressure before you leave!!
When I picked mine up last Friday, it had 42PSI in all tires and slid around like crazy on the cold pavement. Dropped them down to 32 PSI and it drove much better.

Don't try to drive through any snow of any kind . . . I pulled mine out of the garage last night, about 50 feet in 3 inches of snow.
It took me 20 minutes to get it back in the garage, that's with my wife pushing.
No traction at all in the snow.

^^^ This. Soft tire compounds get very hard in cold temps and traction will be greatly decreased. Be careful. Beauty car, btw.

Michelin PSS are not meant to be driven below 45F. They will be hockey pucks. I've driven in 30F with these tires on my 911 - just take it easy and treat the dry roads as if you were on ice.

Action - how long did the PDI take? I'm about to participate with my dealer in one....

i wasn't present for the pdi. the car was delivered and a couple of days later i did the paperwork and they kept the car over the weekend because they had to do paperwork for two separate dmv's and the ct dmv was not open on mondays. so i told them i would pick it up once they sorted out all the government paperwork. i did test drive it 8 miles on the odometer and dropped if off with 10 miles on it. they said they will just store it and not display it as it was not worth the hassle of something happening to the car.

i have driven my m3's in cold weather with pilot sport 2's. don't know if it's the same tire.

No.

Of course it is. It's 2016, not 1931.

EDIT: I read that wrong, my apologies. Just be careful. The tires will get very hard at those temps so just be mindful and take it easy.
