What company did you use? I am kind of leaning towards shipping it. I am doing a lot of traveling next 3 weeks for work and vacation, I am afraid I will be too tired for a cross country drive at the end of the month.

I went with Passport Transport and couldn't be happier! If your car is in FL, you might get the same driver I got (Mike). Good guy. If you go with them, tell 'em Ruben and Chris sent you!! ;)

They use enclosed with hydraulic lift so I had my selling dealer install the front splitter so I wouldn't have to deal with it once my car arrived.

I was planning to drive it home, but this is one of the reasons why I didn't:

Ship it. Anything longer than 10 hour drive is not worth it.
Why not? Road trip across america is a glorious experience
if time allows

I'd drive it... unless you are buying it to keep in your garage and sell later as practically new.

Normally I'd say drive it but coast to coast is too far/long for me. Midwest to CA is about my threshold.

I moved to Texas several years ago from Orange County. I have driven maybe 6 times. The northern route from dallas to Amarillo then 4o to SC is a good drive. The southern route of 20/10 is a boring drive most of the way. Dallas to Florida is a good drive and you can pick several great spots to stop. I would think it is a 4 to 5 day trip. With the 16 gal tank you will see alot of gas stations good news is the current gas prices. If you have some flexibility with time you can work around any storms. This time of year not much bugs out anf traffic is low. I love to drive so I would but make an event out of it.

If you ship then a must is enclosed and I would use a broker. They can find a good match of route and price.

I used Intercity Lines Inc. I went with the enclosed trailer. Picked up in Jefferson County, GA. Delivered to West Los Angeles. They're a excellent service. No damage from loading / unloading with the area were the front splitter would go as with others on this site. Not a scratch, dent, smudge or finger print. It wasn't cheap. You're going to get what you pay for...
If it weren't winter, I would have drove her back out to the coast.

I was originally booked with Intercity, but I had to go with Passport due to the Christmas holiday. Passport was a little over $1600 and Intercity just under $1800. Both had excellent phone/email customer service.

I loved my drive from Ohio down to Oklahoma. Over your kind of a distance though... ship it. Unless you have a solid week+ to take off, you won't enjoy the rushing aspect of it.

I if the weather is going to be fair. I would drive it. I would look up some good driving roads along the way. Some friends and coworkers are planning a little trip to do dragons tail devil's triangle and anything else that is reasonable.

This was inspired by a friends trip last year in his Miata, he said his biggest regret was taking to many highways along the way.

This might sound stupid but why not do both? Hear me out, get it transported somewhere closer, out of the terrible weather in the east, mid west. This would reduce the transport cost and your still be able to put some mile on it. I'm not familiar with transportation services, so, I don't know if they provide a firm date and time for delivery. Or You can have it delivered to my place in LA and I can drive up the coast on PCH for you. Free of charge!

This would probably end up being the most expensive and hectic option. The transporters give a window of delivery that gets solidified as they get closer, so youd need a last minute one-way ticket and/or arrive well in advance to make sure you dont miss the drop off

This is true. My transport showed up 2 days early and on a Sunday, which worked great for me.
