Just to let you guys know, the Service plan does not work out that much cheaper than paying for each service, the only thing it does cover is IF the cost of servicing goes up. The extended road side assistance is added whether you buy the plan or pay for each service.
1st service = £190
2nd service = £210
Total = £400 (2 year service plan £390) SAVING £10
3rd service = £190
Total = £590 (3 year service plan £590) NO SAVING

I took out the £590 Ford service plan because the prices for individual services given by my dealer at the time were...

Not known why Interval 3 costs more than Interval 1
It's possible that these prices could increase before the services become due.

I also have a service book and it includes Mustang in the schedule and pages for the stamps.

In this day and age after paying a small fortune for a new car it seems a bit naff to have a handwritten service document with dates, registration, vin etc where you can hardly read the writing

Nope, but, it's a backup, some people do especially with Rari's, etc etc. As they hold value being only services at Ferrari. Or so the legend states :lol:

I've got a full workshop manual which includes the maintenance schedule but it's for the US i.e. 5k service intervals.

In the US the service schedule is in the owners manual, ours is separate but should be a copy in your glove box; I'll check mine later.

This is what it says in mine ,I needed to change oil at 4000 miles as requested by oil service light ,is this not needed on U.K. Models as you hear people say ignore oil service light and wait until 10,000 or 1 year

I would expect the dealer to change the oil at said point after all it is Ford that fitted the service light, I'm sure most car buffs like Gibbo won't wait till the year or 10,000 miles. As they say oil is cheap engines not , I just wonder if Ford would comeback to you if you had a engine problem and hadn't changed oil when service light came on .

First service is just oil, filter and diags is it not? Surely there must be a significant increase in the services that include plugs, brake fluid, etc?

Plugs and coolant are 100k miles, transmission fluid 150k. Doesn't mention brake fluid in the US manual. I always thought 2 years in the UK.

Every other year for brake fluid so major service year 2. My plugs will never be changed going by that schedule
Pretty much decided to go with the service plan so its paid for up front.

If that was the case, why let the owner have access to the reset menu :shrug:

I'm a car buff, mostly in the buff, mine was reset after it flagged up at 6-7k miles, Ford reset it themselves, so I would expect that Ford would stump up in this case.

I'd raise it to them if it came on, but really, it's just a service light timer, there's no evidence to suggest hard driving vastly decreases the OilLife, and even people who don't drive the car hard have had theirs pop up premature. It's quite literally (tmk) a 1 year timer from the car being oiled up, to when it's pinged up.

Mine should go off soon, and by that account, it's been a year since i picked it up (April 16th) and it's on around20-30% last i checked.

Im sure it does, i've got a guy on FB who raised the question to me, having driven 5k miles 'hard' it had barely moved. Equally, a woman on FB who's weekend car it is, had 900 miles and she'd had it 3 months (Was a "Cancelled order") and hers popped up...
