Hi all,

Think this has been mentioned on here before, but not in one central thread.

My poney is due its first service in January and I've therefore been enquiring about a service plan from Ford's. They (Hendys) are quoting £913.20 for the first three services. Does this sound about right to you guys? I'm sure people where quoting much lower figures on here before...

Thanks,
Tom

That's because it's Hendry's specific service plan, I was paying £890 over 3 years with Trust Ford for theirs. You can buy a 3 year serviceplan straight from ford for £590 flat. You can call them up to get this, and you'll have to fill out an online form, I can't find the site currently (Google effs up on work pc)

Thanks. That's what I thought. I knew I'd seen it cheaper elsewhere. What a rip off of what's effectively already a rip off.

I've been wondering about these too, seems that some others are going to specialists instead of Ford but not ideal when none in the area!

Take a trip to GT101 or moudurstang. You will get a much better service from either of those. Eastleigh Ford are pretty useless IMO.

I took out the 2 year warranty extension and 3 year service plan as shown in the official Ford Mustang price list and on their website when I paid/collected mine... £450 + tax and £491.67 + tax respectively.

Can't grumble at a basic £163.89 + tax for servicing for 3 years.

Always avoid the dealers' own plans which are normally way more expensive.

Oh, and if you have been 'sucked into' the sales pitch of a service plan more than 590, as long as i'ts before your first service you can cancel and take up the £590 plan.

I went with Ford's plan at £590. Dealer wanted £250 for first service so seemed reasonable

As with most cars, it's change the oil and filter then plug it into the computer and ask it what's wrong. Probably worth it for resale though

I think 590 is quite acceptable. Especially in regards to added re-sale value. Not that one would ever do such a thing...

Just had my first service today £81( I supplied oil & oil filter @ £43 cost to me). On that basis I wouldn't say the service plan is good value.
And before anyone shouts that I've got an Ecoboost, the servicing costs are apparently the same (certainly the plans are the same price)

Strange - Suzie at Hendy was quite happy to sign me up for the standard ford plan...

So a couple of months till i'll be forking out for road tax and service.
Anyone got any clue as to how much the second and third services are likely to cost? I know no one is anywhere near that stage but just wondering how much cheaper the service plan is likely to work out over three separate services.
I am likely to use Ford for servicing.
