I'd raise it to them if it came on, but really, it's just a service light timer, there's no evidence to suggest hard driving vastly decreases the OilLife, and even people who don't drive the car hard have had theirs pop up premature. It's quite literally (tmk) a 1 year timer from the car being oiled up, to when it's pinged up.

Mine should go off soon, and by that account, it's been a year since i picked it up (April 16th) and it's on around20-30% last i checked.
Which is strange as mine has already come on. My car was built after yours. Unless EB has a longer life than the GT. Which I guess makes sense

Regardless of how much oil the engine is getting through, the harder it's driven, the shorter the life of the oil.

It breaks down over time at a molecular level thus inhibiting it's lubricating properties, hence race engines requiring oil changes every few hundred miles or so rather than the thousands of miles for road engines.

Lone Survivor posted the first service list a few days ago and IIRC it's an oil and filter and a load of visual checks.

Since I don't have a service book (and never had) I don't have anything stamped, which is why I asked if it was specific to each individual car and since it's not I should hopefully just be able to go and pick one up. :headbonk:

Modern oil in normal, daily use, with fun thrown in and, in modern engines will last far longer than the recommended timescales in service schedules.

Ford do log services though, electronically, when your car is serviced there. A service log book, with receipts for work done, is more important if you use an independent garage, although I keep every receipt, no matter where or who has worked on the car. It's a record of products and services used, as an aid in the event of warranty claims. It also helps at resale time. It's a miniscule number of car owners that frequent forums, so, a comprehensive record is a must when selling to a 'layman'.

I've no idea if I've got an owners service book, the wallet with the owners Manual has never been opened:

1. Because men never need instructions.

2. I just ask on here, if I'm unsure of anything :D

But I suppose I'll have to look for it now. :p

I've got a booklet, it's different to slowhand99 's the back pages are for PDI/Service Stamps (Dont have a PDI one, but i'll get them to put one in during the service lol).

Sits in the 'documents' bit of the glove box... Have a look in there Centurion07 the little yellow tab. Might be an A5 looking booklet. (mine is?!)
Photo or it doesn't exist! :D

Nothing else in the glovebox within a glovebox.

Yep, the service book I definitely don't have. :frusty:

On the flip side I do have a fancy pouch:

Although that was a present from another a member for having the best colour. :D

The slowest colour hence needing the extra marketing.

PICTURE...
Fastest colour, so fast even performance is written in red... and ford, associated with fiesta's and KA's is written in white ;)!
