If I could just adjudicate here, Manders you need a V8 to be fast, no matter what colour mate

Fastest colour, so fast even performance is written in red... and ford, associated with fiesta's and KA's is written in white ;)!
You'll notice which one is first...

Yep, the service book I definitely don't have. :frusty:

On the flip side I do have a fancy pouch:

Although that was a present from another a member for having the best colour. :D
I got one of them too - Maidstone. Yours was for eating the most doughnuts; mine was for the best colour. ;)

I took out the £590 Ford service plan because the prices for individual services given by my dealer at the time were...
Think Ford Service Pricing
Ford prices for individual services
Interval 1 Years (10000 ml) Interim Service £229.00
Interval 2 Years (20000 ml) Major Service £319.00
Interval 3 Years (30000 ml) Interim Service £259.00
Not known why Interval 3 costs more than Interval 1
It's possible that these prices could increase before the services become due.
Total £807.00

I also have a service book and it includes Mustang in the schedule and pages for the stamps.

In this day and age after paying a small fortune for a new car it seems a bit naff to have a handwritten service document with dates, registration, vin etc where you can hardly read the writing
Now with those prices listed it makes sense to go with the plan but I wasn't quoted those prices and I paid £190 for 1st service and was told 2nd service was £210.....come to think of it now though, that £20 difference doesn't seem at all right with the fact that it's a major service at 2yrs :paddle:

Yup... would say it's highly likely you're gonna be bent over the service desk with your pants round your ankles on your next visit...

Well that was shockingly painless.

Popped into my local dealer, asked for a service book, 2 mins later walked out with one.

Although annoyingly it does have a PDI stamp in it from their Farnborough branch!

Still, beggars can't be choosers and all that.

Service plan with mods

Have any modders bought the Ford Service Plan, and successfully received a service ?

The T&C of the service plan states that it will automatically terminate if the vehicle is modified.

I only have an exhaust upgrade so I can't imagine it will be an issue in reality, but would be good to get it confirmed by peoples' experiences.

thanks

They didn't say anything when they serviced mine. My exhaust, springs and wheels may not be standard at all...

Alike the warranty where the modification would have to be proven to have had an effect on any failed part (i.e. a set of lowering springs would have nothing to do with your Sync2/3 failing or your throttle body jamming), I would expect that what you would have modified would have to have a direct impact on the work they were carrying out as part of Ford's service regime for the particular vehicle for it to give them reason to back out of it... like sticking a supercharger/blower on top of the engine!

There's going to be a lot of Mustangs out there that are modified, just like there are Fiesta's and Focus', and much of Ford's background and heritage is based on modified cars, perhaps more than any other brand out there (just look at their history), and it's something that's allowed them to thrive over the years... so I can't imagine for one minute that the average bolt-on modification is going to come as any form of surprise to them, or be unexpected.

I saw Think Ford's service pricing and was getting worried as I'm nearly at 20k miles. And f**k paying £319 for a second service!!

Thankfully Allen Ford's service pricing is much more palatable (taken from their website, sorry about the shoddy formatting):

Performance Annual Servicing

12.5K 25K 37.5K 50K 62.5K 75K

Mustang 2015 2.3L £229 £269 £259 £269 £229 £299
Mustang 2015 5.0L £249 £289 £279 £289 £249 £319

As with all Ford stuff, looks like it's worth shopping around  these seem fairly reasonable!

20 quid more for a GT service, aint that bad... Mind you, im average 190 a service, with an MOT included, so think I've nailed one there ! Mind you, i'll probably get rubbish oil with bits in it, and a filter that's gone through a hedge... :ford::lol:
