I ordered my ecoboost on OCT 22. So does that mean that I should get a vin OCT 30 since that would be the next scheduling and when the vins would come out? And if I do get a vin on the 30th would my car be scheduled to be built the first or second week of December?
Depends on whether your dealer has an available allocation. Some people get VINs and get scheduled within a few days; some people have been waiting for over 5 months to get assigned a VIN.

Yeah from what I been reading on the forum it's just luck of the draw. I tried to order from the dealership where I lived and they said they can't order till they get all of the Mustangs they already ordered. So I called a big ford dealership in a nearby town and they got it ordered within 30 minutes. Would that mean that dealer had allocations?

Most likely, yes.

I ordered from a small dealer in June, and as of last week the car still hadn't been assigned a VIN. Placed a second order with a bigger dealer last week, and the car had a VIN within two days.

Hmm well I think I ordered to early. I think the car will make it to the dealership before I get back to the states. Is there a way that ford could hold my car and don't ship it till its closer to the time I'll be back?

How fast is the process going for you?

Through COTUS (I know, unreliable) I'm looking at a total of 37 days from order to delivery.

Anyone else moving this quick?

I almost feel bad knowing that some members who ordered in May, June and July don't even have VIN's yet...
Mine is currently 54 days... Ordered: 10/10 Delivery: 12/03. So you're pretty lucky.

My initial order was 5/22. No VIN by late Aug/early Sep. when I had to cancel. Re ordered on 10/18, order accepted by 10/20. VIN on 10/23, estimated delivery date 12/2. So, if all stays the same, I'm 45 days from order to delivery. I've heard that the average time is 6 - 8 weeks, which puts me right within that time frame. We'll see how it works out.

Newer orders are clearly going faster. Helps that production is running right along now, while some of us ordered a long time before production started and had to wait until it did. But for a guy in Denver to get a car in hand two weeks after his order while guys who ordered in May are still waiting for VINs is just wrong.

If I had it to do over again, I would hold my order until after OK To Buy, and then place a retail order with a large dealer. That seems to be the secret these days. Although my small dealer has been a pleasure to work with. I will be something like 120 days from order to delivery, so it's been a while.

Mine just got updated, no build date, but, as others have shown, with a surprising estimated delivery date of 12/6. For me in Southern California, very surprising, given the LONG trip...
I ordered a day before you, 10/1 (So Cal area) and mine says exactly the same thing, 12/6 - 38 days.
