I was in a similar situation with my 2011 5.0 (first car I ever bought new). I sold the car to pay for some home remodeling when I was engaged. I do miss the car, but I don’t regret the decision to sell.

No disrespect intended to anyone but you had a run of the mill 5.0 GT. In theory one can always go back and replace that pretty much anytime . It's the speciality Mustangs that become classics that prove to be much more difficult to acquire in future years.

Assuming the OP is talking somewhat short term (maybe within 5 years or so), the non-R’s will still be attainable at decent prices. The R’s, especially with low miles, will still command the higher price tag. It generally takes quite a while for mass production vehicles to attain “classic” status and thus the pricing that comes with it. I’d be more concerned with finding a clean 350 than the actual price of it, at least for a little while. The longer time goes, the less clean examples there will be.

Very true - there's something to be said for having a car that you've been the only or primary owner of, and know its condition, than taking a risk and buying something later that has an unknown history.

While mostly true, have you tried to buy a mint, low-mile Fox body 5.0 for a reasonable price lately?

I’ve looked. That market is completely bonkers. And it rolling into the 197 market also.
Batshit maybe. It's beyond bonkers.

@MAGS1 what your definition of a clean example? Or maybe detailed description?

Yes there are exceptions . TBH I don't follow the Fox bodies however, I have heard rumblings and seen auctions recently ( BaT) this model ( low milage) has increased in price significantly recently.

I can go more in depth what married men won't tell single men because deep down misery loves company. Prevention is the best treatment, no marriage = no divorce.
