165 at Daytona and feathered at the Tri Oval as the front was getting light. Man bearings need to be bigger.

There is a big difference between 140 and 150. A bigger difference between 150 and 160. A huge difference between 160 and 170. That GT500, if the weight comes in good, is going to be a scary ass ride at above 200.

Raise up the 2 rubber hood supports/stands so it is held down tighter.
I had this during my last track event. I suddenly noticed the hood ( the side in front of me) going slightly up and down when I was doing 140 mph on the straight. It basically ruined my entire session. I tried to raise the rubber hood supports as you suggest but that didn't help. I just stopped watching it.

I left the house at 10:30 am to head to the dealer to sell the car. Got down the road and the exhaust was singing to me. Called the wife and told her I'm torn and asked her what I should do. She said keep it. She felt it was okay if we needed money, but that I was crazy for wanting to sell such a beautiful car. I went all the way to the dealer and apologized and thanked them. Got an oil change instead.
They gave me the white glove treatment. They have a Tech that is a Mustang guy named Paul and he is a full fledged Mechanic, not an oil change Tech. I was with him shooting the BS while he did the work. Got to look around under the car. My filter looked great, not a speck of any metal in the pleats. Oil looked great for 2700 miles. First oil change through them is free. I went full synthetic and they just charged for the up charge on the Synthetic.
$100.94 for the service. I slipped Paul a couple of twenties for really great treatment.
Paul also did my splitter when I bought the car and did a first rate job on that as well.

Anyone near the West Chicago area. Haggerty Ford on route 38. See Hector in the parts dept. He's the director of parts and service. Hector, Eric the service manager and Paul the Tech are super. Ask for Paul to do the work. Gauranteed no oil on the belly pan.

The biggest threat (besides hitting something) at those speeds is a blown tire. When they let go going that fast, damage from the tire shredding apart is severe. The controllability issue could cause a spin to a roll, hit a wall, etc.

I kept my TPMS page up and kept an eye on the tire pressures as well as temps as soon as I pulled into the pit.

Nice...only what, 10 miles an hour less than the supposed top speed of 185. Mine felt like a rock at 150mph. I was surprised how stable it was at that speed.

My new Cayman GTS is still faster. I was able to hit 160mph in the Cayman on that same stretch of Mexican road. :D

Thin aluminum hoods (I think). Both my M3/M4 did it as well, but I can't remember at what speeds. I've never had a problem with it so I've never worried too much about it.

I don't think the car had 185 in her. Right at redline in 5th gear.

Down hill with a tail with a tail wind maybe lol on the rollers at the top of fifth in my TP she topped off at 177 which I believe is the published top speed.

I could see 177, but not 185. If 6th was swapped out to a shorter gear that will pull and over time, I could see maybe 185, but not in the standard gear configuration.

After several tries like this one, a buddy finally managed to break and hold 200+ on the Autobahn (204).

It's a repost and not a GT350, but as a car/driving enthusiast, it's one of my favorite pictures...

I get hood flutter at 1xx - didn’t notice over 120 tho. Wasn’t really looking at it
