Last month at Daytona I was in the 155-160 range and had some hood flutter above 150. Did you experience that by chance? There is a big difference between 140 and 150. A bigger difference between 150 and 160. A huge difference between 160 and 170. That GT500, if the weight comes in good, is going to be a scary ass ride at above 200.
I get it at highway speeds.Last month at Daytona I was in the 155-160 range and had some hood flutter above 150. Did you experience that by chance?
Raise up the 2 rubber hood supports/stands so it is held down tighter.I get it at highway speeds.
I will do that tonight and test of course. Thanks.Raise up the 2 rubber hood supports/stands so it is held down tighter.
I had this during my last track event. I suddenly noticed the hood ( the side in front of me) going slightly up and down when I was doing 140 mph on the straight. It basically ruined my entire session. I tried to raise the rubber hood supports as you suggest but that didn't help. I just stopped watching it.Raise up the 2 rubber hood supports/stands so it is held down tighter.
Nice...only what, 10 miles an hour less than the supposed top speed of 185. Mine felt like a rock at 150mph. I was surprised how stable it was at that speed. The biggest threat (besides hitting something) at those speeds is a blown tire. When they let go going that fast, damage from the tire shredding apart is severe. The controllability issue could cause a spin to a roll, hit a wall, etc.
I kept my TPMS page up and kept an eye on the tire pressures as well as temps as soon as I pulled into the pit.
Thin aluminum hoods (I think). Both my M3/M4 did it as well, but I can't remember at what speeds. I've never had a problem with it so I've never worried too much about it.I had this during my last track event. Down hill with a tail with a tail wind maybe lol on the rollers at the top of fifth in my TP she topped off at 177 which I believe is the published top speed.I don't think the car had 185 in her. Right at redline in 5th gear.
I could see 177, but not 185. If 6th was swapped out to a shorter gear that will pull and over time, I could see maybe 185, but not in the standard gear configuration.Down hill with a tail with a tail wind maybe lol on the rollers at the top of fifth in my TP she topped off at 177 which I believe is the published top speed.
I get hood flutter at 1xx - didn’t notice over 120 tho. Wasn’t really looking at itLast month at Daytona I was in the 155-160 range and had some hood flutter above 150. Did you experience that by chance?
