Found myself staring at two of our client cars today. S197 & S550 GT500’s both rolling on our Signature Wheel SV105.
.
Two totally different engineering approaches. Manual vs Auto. Solid axle vs IRS. Was one better?
.
Always wanted a 13/14 GT500 but never owned one. Curious who’s had both and which you like more?
.
At this point I can only see electric integration as being the next step in evolution

Never liked the s197 body so I’d say s550 and you def can’t go wrong with a DCT. Those wheels on the 2020 do it no justice. Makes it look like a performance pack GT.

I came from a 2014 to a 2020. The 2020 GT500 is far superior in handling, power, integration (drive modes), and the DCT is excellent. I didn't think it would be the case, but I don't miss my 14 at all.

I sold my 2013 GT500 and got a 2017 RS3 Roush, so it's not the new 2020 GT500, but I feel that the 2017 out does just about everything compared to the 13 GT500.
Biggest thing is that the 17 S550 can put the power down way better than the 13 GT500. My 17 is VMP tuned, so it has more power than the GT500 had.
Plus I switched to an Auto trans, as I was ready for that.
The torque of the GT500 and the manuel trans made launching on the street ify a lot of times. You would either spin or hook and than slight bog as you were almost always expecting to blow the tires off. It really needed 3.73 gears.
Just me, and I do sometimes miss the GT500, but overall, the 17 Roush RS3, VMP tuned is better for me.

IMHO, they both look great, T but the Iconic '20 and those wheels are a match made in Heaven me thinks. Boy do they ever look spectacular on that car and I'm thinking I might change my mind about favorite Signature wheels.

I always wanted a 1st gen S197 GT500 and was in awe of the HP at the time, but wasn't in the position to buy one. While i think they have held up well overall I don't 'want' one anymore.

I finally decided to sell my '14, got tired of dealing with the neighbor lady and her garage. Didn't want any of the vehicles to sit out so one had to go.

I did love that car but it was squirrly to say the least. The '20 has SO much better traction control than the previous model.

The pictures don't do the wheels justice either. They pop in the sun just like the iconic silver paint.

Wheels are gorgeous, but I'd need to hire someone to clean them...

I just love the look of the 13-14 cars, I’d take that white one please.

The 2011 is what i would consider a brute. Always on the edge. 2 tons of fun and tons hp and torque. 6R80 Swapped. It does very well A to B, but not much of a corner carver anymore

The 1966 you are part of the car driving it, you have to be. Manual everything. Always driving. Least power, most fun. Built 351W, 5 speed, Holley EFI

The 2020. Highly refined. always seems to be under control. Does everything good.
