Hi, can anyone help me where did this come from? Found it today chilling on passenger floormat. It is rubbery and pretty stiff like some sort of stopper. I have checked in glovebox, there are two stoppers installed from both sides so looks like not from there.

Hello; look around at anything with a door or something which opens & closes. Looks like a soft bit to keep something snug when closed. Maybe a glove box or a center console door, passenger door, gas tank door ( i have one missing on my trucks gas tank door). Those sorts of things can be lots of places to stop rattles.
Look under the seat back where the seat back would settle after someone got out of the back.

Could even be an extra one dropped into the car on the assembly line.

Years ago, I was baffled by a plastic thing found inside a transmission pan. I was told it was a plug stuck onto a transmission part for during shipping and was knocked off during assembly.

Do you have a friend who would prank you by throwing such in the car?

No way its a prank, I rarely take any passenger in car and it looks like OE Ford part, also I don't think it was left extra somewhere in the car either as I clean floor mats from time to time.

I think I found exact part that looks like the one I found, its W709253-S300, by the name it is Hood Stop Buffer Adjustable Bumper, no way it would get inside car from there.

I am thinking the same, it has to be something from door, or glovebox, but in glovebox I can see two stoppers installed correctly (bumper look different to this one) and I don't see anything missing on door.

Its driving me crazy it appeared from somewhere and just can't find where from. If only I could find some schematics for this part and where it should be installed on Mustang I could maybe figure something out but no idea.

Lift up your center console lid. It's a rubber bumper under the bottom of the lid, so it cushions the impact when you close it.
I had this happen in my F150 truck. Couldn't figure out where it came from for weeks. And mine looked more like the shape of an ear bud. Luckily I saved it, as one day while working on my center console, I noticed one bumper missing.

Well, did you lift up the center console lid to see what bumpers are under it? I looked at mine, but they are different given that mine is a GT350. And the link I gave you, was for a GT350.

Hello; Send me contact information for your friends I have some ideas for them.

Back in the 1960's hoods could be opened at any time and cars had hub caps. I once put a small smoke maker in between the spark plug wire and a spark plug on a friend's car. Then waited in the parking lot to watch. When he started the car smoke erupted from under the hood. He took it well enough but I only did that once.
I knew of a guy who kept hearing a strange noise from his car. Someone had put a few gravels inside the hubcaps.

did you lift up the center console lid to see what bumpers are under it?
Hello; This.

Thanks for all the tips, appreciate it.

Well, I checked both glove box stoppers, also under the center console lid. They are all in place.

The good thing is that I think I've found identical stopper on website. Its described as hood bumper that is adjustable so maybe its somewhere from the hood and maybe some mechanic put it in car after maintenance. But I can't see anything missing on the hood so I have no idea where it could possibly go in that area

If you think it belongs on the hood, go to the parts listing, and it shows a diagram where everything goes.

Open your passenger door, look at the interior side of the door at the corners and check for an empty hole where the bumper should be inserted. The doors, hood, and trunk lid have similar rubber bumpers.
