If the servos are the industry standard units there should be no problems. Plenty of manufacturers have shipped systems with variable exhaust as OEM parts for years (Chevrolet, VW and Jaguar to name just a few).
Yeah, I'm sure they'll be trouble free for a while. I dig the idea on this system and I'm sure it's going to appeal to a lot of folks. I think it's going to be a fairly expensive system, coupled with the fact that you'll also be buying a rear valance, paint, labor...etc.

No denying that it will cost considerably more than your standard axle back. But keep in mind as mentioned you need the exhaust system, the rear valance and an entire wiring harness to run from the exhaust tips up to the drivers seat.

Any type of rough timetable? Trying to hold out for this.

I'd like to see June possibly for retail sale but that is not set in stone.

I've seen something like this for the Focus ST. Very cool to see this in the V8 category and as the quad tip.

It will cut further back than the axle back, however as of right now it will not be removing the resonator. It will be the quad tip exhaust as seen on the stage 2 car. Basically one tip of each muffler is open all the time and the other side has a block off plate bolted on. You then could get the quad tip and remove the block off plate and have the full sound all the time. With the active you would remove the plate and install a electric valve that will be adjustable in car via a switch and we also plan to have an app to allow you to adjust the sound levels anyway you would like. Not just closed, partial, open etc. it will allow you to change it based on throttle input, gears etc.
I see it's not being called an exhaust cut-out.
Is this because it doesn't meet the definition of an exhaust "cut-out"?

I'm not up to speed on these systems so correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't an exhaust cut-out bypass prior to the mufflers to create the increase in sound?
The reason I ask is because exhaust cutouts are not street legal in my state.

If it's anything like GMs NPP exhaust, the valve is after the exhaust. One outlet goes through the exhaust chambers, the other goes through less chambers. Almost a straight through. The valve shuts off the straight through automatically, until it's turned on, then loudness occurs.

Here are some pictures of the quad tip which is prepped for the active. You can see on the inner tips that its bolted on at the muffler itself, so you would remove that tip, unbolt the blockoff plate and then attach the valve where that block off plate you remove was located and reinstall the tip.

At first I thought the unbolting to insert was a stupid idea. You can get the exhausts, but have to pay extra for the selenoid valve, jsut a money making scheme. In actuality its a good one where you can purchase 2 stage if needed, and if one or the other part gives up the ghost, or rusts out. it can be replaced less expensively. I will hold my reservations though on the total costs as comapred to what an NPP setup costs and the additional wiring set to make an after factory install.

Will this system require a tune?

From searching the part numbers at work, I found that the active exhaust looks like it will be well over 2K. Thats dealership cost as well..... These types of exhaust are very common on German and other import cars. The prices will be a lot higher than your average exhaust and a good bit higher than any other Mustang exhaust. With that being said, they are super awesome and i can not wait to hear them on an S550...
