I just want to know why it HAS to be installed on a Premium Package car only. What is the difference between the base bumper and the Premium cover? If I have to buy the premium rear bumper so be it.

The chassis is different between base and premium, the base model cars are missing holes in the chassis used for mounting.

Kyle,
What holes? Something a drill won't solve? Your exhaust install already requires drilling more holes and adding nut-zerts (sp) added for the muffler hanger.

I am just trying to get your valance on my car and looking for the know how. I am a body guy and have the tools and know how to get body mods done. I am already getting a Premium cover and waiting on my pricing for the Roush valance.

I got with my local Ford parts guy and I looked at the Premium cover today at lunch and I see that not only does it appear to require the premium cover but you have to cut it to where the Roush valance is a permanent change. You have to not only CUT the OEM cover (remove the section where the reverse light sits) as well as the upper section of the cover outside the OEM GT Premium valance gets holes drilled in it.
I watched the CJPonyParts video and nowhere does he talk about cutting the bumper cover but the fact that the reverse light section is GONE as well as where the template has you drill holes is on the painted surface of the cover. I am still doing it but wanted anyone to know that will do this themselves there are some parts that you will cringe at when doing it.

I did this same procedure when I did the 2013 GT500 exhaust on my 2013 GT. Loved that exhaust on that car. I will love it on this one with a Roush valance!

You will have to still new holes in the bumper in order to properly fit the roush quad valance, I recently did it and it was fairly straight forward, just an FYI you also have to drill in into the bottom of the car to attach new bracket hangers for the exhaust which you may have noticed in the CJ pony parts install video.

Well worth it in my opinion

I am sure it will be worth it. In the end I will have my stock OEM bumper to put back on if I ever decide to sell this one as I am buying a new Premium rear bumper cover since I have a BASE model. I am not installing the Roush mufflers but the 2013 GT500 mufflers after mods. I love the quad tip look on these cars. I think that was the only thing missing when Ford brought the 15 model out. They should have given the GT's the quad and the 4/6 the single tip.

Great idea, but $2500 is going to be about 5 times my muffler budget. I'll just have to choose a sound and live with it.

edit:

Does anyone know how the quad tips sound compared to the roush dual tips axleback with the block off plate in/out?

So if the stock exhaust is 2/10...roush regular axle back is 7/10 (loudness)..how does the dual tip plate in/out rate in loudness?

I really like the active exhaust concept. The issue with this solution is it retains the stock resonator. Also, it'll likely be north of $2k.
Yea for those of us that have the Roush, we are mostly looking for ways to get a little more volume out of it. This seems sort of like a gimmick if anything because it will be making an already mild exhaust even milder?? This could make sense for people who have aftermarket xpipes or hpipes in place of resonator tho, but I have a shop working on an electronic resonator bypass system so I can flick a switch and route exhaust around the resonator, otherwise dump exhaust out right after the cats, but we'll see. Should be done next week.

I'm with you, quad tips can rock and you're not a wanna be. The new Camaro had em and so do the GT 350s.

CJ has a video on a Quad tipped conversion but you have to cut or drill something for that mod to be installed.

My wish is that somebody will create an axle back (I'm in California), quad tipped set that had just a deep growl and no rat a tat tat for me. Gotta be no drone and Corsa doesn't make any more touring axle backs, just Extreme and Sport.

Most seem to think the 2015 is much quieter than the previous models.

Here is the only example I could find and it looks and sounds sweet for my taste.

I like how GM has active exhausts from factory and all those guys delete it while ppl here are trying to install it. lol. $2k for an axleback is absolutely absurd. I get wanting an exhaust that's loud when you want it to be but for $2k+? I guess if you have the money to blow, to each their own...on a side note I do really like the look of the quad tips with the rear valence. If anything I would possibly take this route and not hook up the active exhaust electronics.

Just saw this. Check this video out that came out Friday. It seems like the controller replaces the sunglasses holder. I assume it's programmed via OBD2 or Bluetooth/Wifi for the "custom" setting. Either way it seems close to release.
