So when backing out of the garage my wife just happened to be standing behind the car and said the reverse light flickered and then went out. So I replace the bulb, no dice all the other lights work taillight side markers, trunk light tag light all good. Just no reverse. I suspect reverse light switch, but I can’t find any information on how to change it or location. I think it’s on the transmission. If anyone has done this repair I’m open to any information/ tips

You could check if the reverse light switch is bad, its usually on the top of the transmission, you could disconnect it and jump the switch then see if the lights come on that would let you know the switch is bad.

If that all works out you could check the harness make sure nothing is loose and you got power where you should. Best of luck brotha

Well dang. I hopes it’s just a bad socket. Because i really don’t want to have to drop the trans to replace the switch. But I’ll put it on the lift in the morning to see what all I’m dealing with.

So i figured it out. This is the craziest shit i have ever seen. Long story short i had installed a new frameless review mirror a week ago with new harness. Well yesterday was the first time driving the car. So that’s why i never noticed the light was out. So after testing everything. Unplugged the mirror. And poof. Reverse light comes on. So needless to say i will no longer have auto dimming review mirror šŸ˜‚

Yea i was just plug and play nothing to be spliced. But it took me a day of thinking and an
Hour of testing. But I’m just glad i figured it out in a timely fashion

That's trippy for sure. But the one thing we always used to say, if something was working before doing repairs/upgrades and then it doesn't work, double-check everything you did as it probably was the cause. (I've done enough "repair work" and find something not working right and then find that I forgot to plug or connect something back.)
