Turn on the AC and you’ll notice Rev hang goes away in sport plus. Just noticed this driving home.
My clutch bites right off the floor. Is in perfect spot for engagement. It’s the engagement that is kinda numb, even with the steeda spring and perch. You get a nice positive grab rolling out of first. But any other gear there isn’t much feedback.

I hate that they’re pushing everyone into autos and basically making the manual trans so piss poor/weak to drive that people are ditching them all together. Had three manual JKs with the NSG370 trans and were great, clunky but great. Wheeled the hell out of them.

Bought a JL and had to go auto. The JL manual gearbox was the worst I’ve ever driven. It’s soulless, plus had a good 2 second rev hang and they only way you knew it engaged is when you started to move. It has absolutely no pedal feel. It feels like an arcade pedal. And about 8 tsb D/T constant issues.

I’m still want to change out the fluid to the motul dctf, add stainless clutch line and do the mgw that are all sitting in a box. But don’t want the dealers to screw me over because I improved the trans.

It feels like the linkage is misaligned and/or a bad synchro. Ford dealer says it’s fine. I’ve built a few manual trans and run enough to know something isn’t right, but I don’t want to pay to have it fixed, especially when it’s under warranty. And don’t have the room or time to do it myself. I can’t find anyone that does current Mustang work that I trust or will really take a look at it. my local dealer is good but they only do vanilla shit.

I did the fluid upgrade/steel line/mgw shifter. It improves shifting 99% to the point I have no nibble and never miss a shift. However the clutch still sucks and will delay releasing sometimes on a quick shift where I have the pedal on the floor and can still feel it tugging on the gear when i go to shift to neutral.

Curious have you installed a good aftermarket clutch ? I am assuming yes but I thought to ask. I hear that fixes most if not all shifting issues. My 2014 GT clutch sucked at high rpms.

I hear the same thing. The mantic is supposed to fix high rpm issues and rev hang. Problem is I’m not dropping 3k on a clutch when I can spend 10k and move into a mach or Shelby and never have a trans issue again.

I've BITCHED about "Rev-Hanging" in all 3 of my late model Mustang 5.0 6 Speed Manuals.....GRRRRR!!

The AC ON helps a lot but why should I have to run the AC all the time??

A Pedal Commander helped to a point but my BEST MOVE was A SOLER PERFORMANCE THROTTLE BODY......it's like a totally different animal now......Ford should use these from the factory!!

BTW.......I have a Pedal Commander for sale and will list shortly for half price shipped!!

Yea I put a vengeance stage 2 in. The only remaining issue with this car is the rev hang. No lock out of any gears. I get some chatter at low rpm but that’s expected with a clutch like that

Did that throttle body eliminate the rev hang?

That requires a tune, yes? Who did you utilize? And which model/diameter?
90MM and stock tune......it changes the throttle sensitivity and makes the driving experience MUCH BETTER.....even for me at 77.....1-2 shifts are a dream now!! I couldn't wait to send my OEM one to them for the core refund!!

Rev hang is a programming thing. It’s the only way I’ve gotten rid of it in any manual vehicle sports vehicle I’ve had since 2011 that’s had it, was a tune or somehow editing parameters. I’d also like to get rid of the third gear grind after 4500k into third that these apparently all have per Ford and is a “normal characteristic of the transmission”.

Check out the Steeda bracket I linked earlier in the thread. My 2020 was fine for 3 years then developed the grind rarely going into 3rd. When the stock one was replace with this bracket last year I have not had that grind once since. And I've had some fun this summer with it!

Not sure which one you listed. Didn’t see one. Car is a 22 with only 8k on it. I have an mgw to replace the whole thing. It’s not when going into third.
It’s when I release the clutch, that I get it. It’s in gear and stays in and goes just fine just bbzzt on release. Doesn’t feel like an synchro. And only does it after 4500+. I’ve even tried going slow. Depress clutch, shift into third, wait a sec and then release and still does it as long as I’m above 4500.
Check any YouTube video about third gear crunch/grind and is same sound. Been to two Ford shops and both say is normal. I posted a video in a thread I started. Trying to sort that before I start swapping parts. But would like to get rid of the rev hang if I can. Anyone look through Forscan to see if you can change parameters for it?
