As long as they are stainless, there are not much differences. I've had luck with 2 different brands and they all lasted.

Several threads on H-pipe / X-pipe comparisons for sound and drone, particularly dependent on what you have axle-back.
I'm running active valve with Steeda H-pipe and love it.

Just ordered the H-pipe from Steeda yesterday. I've got active exhaust too, hope I made the right decision.

With the Steeda H pipe and active exhaust how quiet can you go?
I program for Quiet mode starts from midnight to 8 am; my neighbors love me.
In quiet you're not stealth mode (well, maybe for a Mustang) but certainly on par with many ordinary cars.

H is closer to old school, the X is a bit more rasp/european (without that frickin' annoying crackle).
More people have the X, makes us H's stand out more, and damn does it sound good in Track mode when you open it up.

I recommend running down to a local muffler shop for the install; it's a breeze to do on a lift, easier to align the tips, and have them weld where the back clamps would go. The Steeda clamps work fine, but... might as well while you have it at the shop to preclude any chance of leak or sag.

One other tip, after it is all together, do yourself a favor and push the wire harness or reclamp so that the harness to the mufflers have more clearance from the mufflers; usually only takes a slight adjustment towards center of 'stang. With the movement from install, it's not uncommon that the harness may get a little closer to the mufflers. The mufflers get toasty and even with heatshield braid, they can cook the insulation of the wires at the connector to the muffler. It's a pain if it suddenly drops back to normal mode with an active exhaust unavailable warning, or worse, starts blowing the fuse.

So with Steeda in Quiet mode louder than say Sport mode with resonators?

Expensive, but my vote is the borla switchfire
which definitely sound awesome BTW; I was tempted when I was researching but decided on Steeda H. All depends on the tone you're after which is absolutely personal preference.

My steeda H pipe/resonator delete is pretty much just as quiet in quiet mode as it was with the resonators. Except for the first split second when starting it up or if you go over 4000 rpm. Then it is louder! Track mode is way louder and meaner sounding with the h pipe. It pairs so nicely with active exhaust you won’t be disappointed!

Any drone on the highway with this setup?
I’m thinking it may be my first mod on the Mach1
